Do you ever set up a new Apple Watch as new and not restore it from backup? I got my new S6 in and was wondering if I should set it up as new or restore it from a backup. Just geniunely curious if you've seen any benefits from setting your watch up as new.

I see no point of setting up watch as new unless absolutely necessary. Why bother wasting time adjusting settings that I know I won’t change anyways?

I set mine up as new - after starting with a series 3 and carrying over my settings to a series 4....

Why? Frankly - a lot of the annoying stuff I turned off has improved and is no longer worth muting. I want to go through the newer experience and decide what to carry forward. I want the new prompts and reminders and I want to see the new training videos, etc.

I'm glad I did - there is a lot to revisit that is improved...

I always set mine as new and I didn’t find it’s that bad. On the other hands I always restore my phone and ipad from backup.

Have done both and Restored on my 6. Setting up as new is ambivalent and can be a little more fun and annoying at the same time. Odd that I was just checking and looks like I have done it a time or 2.
