iPad Do you apply screen protector on IPad?

I had one on my 2018 12.9 but removed it because of the increased reflectivity - in dark images or black areas, if viewed in a lit room I could clearly see my reflection and background in that area. I overlaid that screen with another iPP without a protector and the difference was striking; I removed the protector and haven't used one since (now on 2021 12.9). I should note that I don't care for matte screens but they reduce the glare issues.
I have a glass protector on my 11" iPad Pro (2020). It works great. No problems with sensitivity, glaring, cowling, snarling, monthly bloating, or any other known protector issues.
Never ever and have had every iPad, sold my 2.5 year old 11“ as new.
can you share the link of the glass protector you use? does it reduces your iPad's sensitivity etc?

I haven't had any problems with the screen not registering a finger swipe, tap, or other iOS input, not to mention no problems using the Apple Pencil.

I'll just add as a follow-up to my earlier post, I used a screen protector not for protection but rather for ease of cleaning. After many years of owning Android & Apple tablets (on my 10th one with the 2021 12.9), I've never had a scratched screen and just used the protector on the one device. Same with many phones.
Not a phone they don’t go in your pocket etc, never get scratches, they ruin the experience imo on a iPad.
I use on my iPhones though.
If you are that careless guess you have no choice or use AC.
I use a PaperLike screen protector on my 11” which gives a better pencil experience and reduces reflections. On my new 12.9” M1, I put a glass protector on it. Since I use it for photo editing, I don’t want to see the pixelation of the PET protectors.
The other day I was using the 12.9 to edit a couple photos. I got up and set it on the footstool in front of my chair. While in the other room, the dog jumped up right on the iPad. The protector got three scratches from her claws. I don’t know if the screen would have gotten scratched. But I’m glad I didn’t have to find out.

+1 for paperlike. I added it because I take a lot of notes with the pencil. In that regard it adds functionality, as things feel better. And the added protection is welcome in a house with kids.

Don’t use them on either iPad or iPhone. Never had a scratch on any of the screens. Unless you’re really careless with it the iPad is unlikely to get scratched. For the iPhone I never put it in my pocket with keys or other stuff. I’ve used an iPad with a screen protector and didn’t like the feel or responsiveness.
You guys have a pretty high standard for a scratch. No way on earth you don’t “ever get scratches”. I’ve run with and without protectors. I’m very careful with devices. However, it took less than a week for minor scratches and screen imperfections to appear on my iPads and iPhones when a protector wasn’t in use.
this is even worse when using an Apple Pencil.
if you mean ”deep scratch” or keyed - type scratches, sure. But I use a protector to keep even the micro scratches away. If you’ve used a device for more than a month and didn’t have a screen protector, there WILL be microabrasions and scratches visible when the device is clean when viewed in the right light.
I think these are misleading comments, especially for an average user.
No idea why you quoted me. I had only said I’ve never used protectors. I didn’t mention anything about scratches.
I don’t care at all about “micro abrasions and scratches visible when viewed in the right light.” Either the device will have it or the screen protector will have it. You will be seeing them either way but if they are only visible in certain light aka under a microscope they will have a negligible effect on resale value. Just enjoy your device.
Never use them on any devices. After you own a device for awhile if you study the screen close enough in just the right light you might have so-called micro-abrasions, but you know what? I care less about tiny scratches that require extremely close inspection in the right light versus the crappy feeling and sensitivity of a screen protector.
My devices get scratched by me just looking at them. If I breathe near them, the screen gets 10 new scratches. So yes, I have a screen protector on my iPad. I got an ordinary tempered glass one and it's OK.
Does the paperlike protector has a texture? Is it not smooth? I don’t think I will like any texture on a screen protector. It has to be smooth…
I’ve tried it a few times but you always get a lot more reflections and glare so I am against it now. It also does take away quite a bit from the feel of the device as you always feel the edges in certain situations. I am fine with my phone getting micro scratches and I more or less never get any on my iPads.
