I am just curious to see how everyone feels about this?

I do not think it needs to be. There is a point where going thinner makes them feel more fragile. Most people use a case anyway, especially after AntennaGate.

Nope. Just hope the screen is taller AND wider by just a little bit

YES!

I'd like to seem have the screen take up more real estate on the phone. Then it wouldn't have to get that much taller (depending on the screen size they choose).

Nope, makes no difference to me
And I don't use a case on my 4s

I don't like using a case, but I like the extra protection. It has saved my phone twice.

This is actually the best argument for why it should be made thinner.

I go naked so I'm fine with the current phone. But due to all those case-users out there, yeah, I kind of hope they do make the phone thinner just for that reason alone.

Yes. I want 7.X mm thin.

If it's just a little bit thinner, I don't really care. It's cool whatever no big deal, or they can keep it the same, still awesome. However; let's just say somehow magically they make it as thin as the iPod touch, well that's too thin. Feels weak and small.

Thin has been Apple's obsession for as long as I can remember. As long as they seem to be taking it to the extreme, it's time to make it so thin you can see through it... now that would be very different. Great for the bragging rights that Apple cherishes.

Well IMHO I like the iPod touch's very thin design, though they will not be able to create an iPhone of that size, at least not yet.

I don't care; I'm hoping to sit out this upgrade cycle and keep my 4s another year. I've had iPhone 1, 3, 4, and 4s.

Apple is very sneaky -- they release an OS update about two months before the new phone, and the OS update does great stuff but it slows the phone way down, so you'll pine for a faster CPU.

Yes. I'd much rather they keep it the same size and add extra battery than making it thinner. Their is absolutely nothing being added by making it thinner for my usage.

I always seem to want to pick an answer that isn't on a poll. I do care, but in the sense that if it is thinner, I may be unhappy. I really don't think we need the device to be thinner. It's already plenty thin, IMO. So I suppose I would select "yes", but I feel this selection implies "yes, I want it to be thinner", when that is not the case.

Given the choice, sure, I'll take thinner. Be nice if they just put a fatter battery in there and keep the same thinness by loosing the thick/heavy glass back.

Yes

I loved moving from my thicker 3GS to the iPhone 4 because of the thinner chassis.

As long as I get the battery life and performance I need I'm ok with thinner.

I dont really care but yea, thin would be neat (as long as battery life isn't compromised).

I would prefer them develop the tech for a thinner phone but leave it the same thickness with a larger battery. If it's thinner I'm fine with that too. I vote, don't care.

A thinner phone doesn't equate to a dinky feeling crap phone. Cheap crap phones feel like crap phones. A quality phone is a quality phone. The iPod Touch certainly doesn't feel cheap or fragile to me.

I don't really care.

The 4S is thin enough. I don't see the point of going any thinner.

I think he probably means:

Yes - would like it thinner
No - don't want it thinner
Don't care - meh, I don't care either way

Yea, that is what I meant, I typed it thinking that. I should have put "Dont care either way"

or said "Do you want the next iPhone to be thinner?"

Thin phones only impress people with tiny hands and tiny skinny jean pockets.

I don't need to worry about breaking my phone because it's so damn thin. There's a point where that crap should stop.

Wouldn't hurt to have a thinner iPhone. And if the metal backing rumors is true, it definitely adds up to the durability.
