Just wondering, since we have so many threads about people worrying about everyone else might think about the color they'd choose.

Me: I couldn't care less what color someone else chooses.

But isn't it interesting how insecure some folks can be?

Co worker has a red iPhone 7, I thought that was kind of cool, I don't really gel with the boring colour selection iPhones have, especially when you see the colours you can get iPod Touches in

Nope, it's all personal preference. People tend to look for justification on all of their decisions on this site though. Especially when it comes to your choice of using iOS or Android. It's all personal preference and there is no wrong choice.

this topic doesn't make sense? why worry about what others think?

/thread.

The only color I care about is the color that is on MY phone.

I'm probably going to put a case on it any, because kids.
I have kids. :)

They were 4 and 9 in 2012 when I got my first iPhone. Never had a case, don't have one now, didn't have one before then when the kids were even younger than that.

Both my kids always understood that messing around with mom or dad's phone was a very fast way to get into big trouble. But we also had other devices for them, such as a 3GS and they both had their own computers (iBook G4 and PowerBook G4) which they were expected to take care of properly.

'…because kids.' has never applied to me in this context.

There's actually a rare personality disorder where they care about what people think/think about them and it's very debilitating.

I don't know to many people insecure about an iPhone color. It's strictly preference. Should somebody be judged based on the color or style of the iPhone case they use too? In the real world (Not on a tech site), I have never come across anyone judging someone else for a cell phone color. Ever.

I recall in a past thread in which someone claiming to be a manager stated that he wouldn't hire someone with an iPhone in any color other than silver or black because he didn't think that person looked "professional" otherwise. I also recall thinking that person was supreme jerk, but it just goes to show that people will judge you for silliest thing, so you might as well do what you want.

I usually don't knows what color my phone is. I tend to buy them used off of swappa and get the lowest price I can for the best condition. The color of the back of the phone is doesn't matter to me at all.I keep them in cases. I only know notice it if it's a white front or a black front and the reason that matters to me is it tell me which phone is which at a glance. I have no idea what other people's phones look like

I could not give a flying crap what someone's else's phone is in general, let alone the color of it.

Oh I don't let my kids use my iPhone, but that doesn't mean it's impervious to accidents caused by either me or my kids (directly or indirectly) :) I have a 5 and 7 year old. I could probably give even the 5 year old my iphone now and not worry about it (they have managed to use an old iPad without breaking it), but when they were toddlers it was another story. Even today there are spastic outbursts. My 5 year old made me drop my camera this Summer when he decided to jump around and somehow got tangled up in the strap. Broke the LCD and cracked the front filter mount. Fortunately the viewfinder still works and the lens does to (and was one of my least used lenses). I just can't screw filters onto the lens until I get it repaired.

I've been using iPhones since the 3G and I started using a case when the kids were born because I was often juggling babies and all the stuff that goes with them. It was just easier to drop things. Fortunately I never dropped a baby, but I did drop my phone a few times. With the iPhone 6 I bought another case and also, for the first time, a screen protector. I had somehow scratched the screen on my iPhone 5 which didn't help its value. Not long after that I somehow dropped my phone onto concrete and the screen protector was cracked but the actual screen was fine. Who knows, maybe the screen would have been fine without the protector.

I don't wear any kind of protection on my Apple Watch, and it has taken some knocks without any scratches or dings over the last two years. Not as fortunate with my iPhones... the case is probably just as useful to protect the iPhone from me as it is from my kids. That said, now that they are older, I'm tempted to forgo the case when I upgrade (probably to the X). Then again $200 is a lot to pay for AppleCare +, so maybe I will go with a case.

I do draw the line at expensive, chunky cases though. I only use thin low-profile cases that probably don't provide much more than psychological protection.

When my daughter was just learning to walk she did that furniture walk thing (where they hold on to furniture and 'walk'). Without fail she gravitated to my phone which would always sit on the arm of the couch or the side table next to it.

I spent a lot of time getting up, picking her up and moving her to the opposite side of the couch. :).

Repeat ad nauseum.

Had a friend whose kid managed to stomp all over his microphone/headset right before we were going to Skype.

And my son once decided he was going to throw a temper tantrum and drop himself down in a parking lot kicking and screaming. He was about 3 or so. That was at the height of summer in August in Phoenix on a typical 110º day on asphalt and he was in shorts.

That was the FIRST and LAST time he ever did that. The moment he hit the ground he was right back up again and all the tears were gone. :)

Wanna fight me IRL?

Sent from my silver iPhone 8+

J/k. I hit like a little girl...most likely because I have a silver iPhone.

Okay okay...I’ll stop now. :p
It better be a 256 GB model with an Apple leather case on it else I’m gonna find you and destroy your phone. Yes that’s how much I care about other people phones. /s
