for those of you who eat fresh fish, do you eat the skin with it? is it healthy?
I usually eat the skin of a fish, so long as it's crispy, but jeez, after reading this I think I'll pass next time.
Generally no, but I do in cases like salmon skin sushi...
Just read that the "most nutritious part of the fish is in the skin - and it is packed with Omega 3 oils", which, supposedly, help counter cancer, heart attack, strokes, etc.

yes, why not, if it's scaled properly?
my fish MUST be 100% deboned or else the bones must be visible and easily enough to remove. I dislike these tiny bones that they always get stuck. *cough* *cough*
Crispy fish skin is awesome!
As long as the scales are removed.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. I can't eat fish. I like the taste of fish, but I can't eat it. I simply can't.
I eat Salmon skin when cooked with it on...
I dont see how anyone can eat any part of a fish... Disgusting.
Yeah, im a veggie lol.
I do yes.
On a scale of 1-10 I rate it a 7.
I generally do eat fish skin, but I find salmon skin sushi pretty gross!
Sure do, nothing like fish and chips in the cold and rain. The skin of jacket potatoes is most excellent also.
What is it about fish that you can't stomach? I know a lot of people seem to have a problem with seafood but to me it is just another meat. The same goes with offal too (I do prefer fish to offal though).
Potato skins with cheese and bacon! Yummy!
the reason why i was asking is b/c i almost always try to get the "catch of the day" or whatever when i go to a seafood place. i get it either blackened or grilled. but i never eat the skin. i know fish is supposed to be good for you, compared to red meat, and i like fish, so i try to eat it a good bit.
so i was wondering if the skin is good for you, and making sure it won't kill me or something. i actually had salmon last night, and i ate the skin. tasted good to me
i'll eat it not fussy about food really
English chippies leaving the skin on is one reason that I rarely eat fish suppers down here. Up in Scotland, they take the skin off before battering them. So much nicer!
I tend to avoid the skin on fish (eat it on jacket potatoes though) with the exception being sardines, whitebait or where it's slightly crispy.
only in the form of
apart of that i prefer my fish to be rectangular and covered in bread crums or served out if cans
I eat the skin. Delicious.
I have a phobia of fish. I stepped into a dead one on the beach. That might be the reason. I also can't eat any meat when it is obvious what part of the animal it is from.
