It's funny, because when I first got my white macbook I would NEVER eat near it, and I would always thoroughly wash my hands/lower arms before use...yeah that lasted for about a month.

Now that I have the macbook pro I have refrained from eating around it, but I'm sure that too will pass. I guess it's just the idea of having a new computer and not wanting to mess it up while its relatively new.

Since it's summer I eat lunch and breakfast infront of it. Dinner is spent with the family. (I'm the only one home during the day)

yes, quite often. I even share. My MBP has been through hell and back (aka being by my side for the past 2 years). I spill stuff on it, drop food on it, drop it in food (hehe long story), and its has so many dents and is really banged up, i really don't care. Its still chugging along mostly (no more optical disk) and i cant imagine doing anything worse to it that would actually kill it.

I live in front of my Mini. It's up on a little shelf and the shelf itself creates a dam for when I spill liquids so that the powerbrick and all the cables are safe from all but gallon sized floods. I've gone through 3 keyboards in the last few years. Amazingly enough my Apple aluminum keyboard has yet to be inundated and I've had it the longest of all of them.

My PB is now stored on a shelf beside my desk. It's seemingly impervious to water and even a can of coke but taking unnecessary risks seems careless!

That's my story too. Now, I often have my iBook in my lap while I'm sitting in the recliner and eating.

*Blush*

Never ever ever! When I'm going to eat or even drink anything, I will actually put my Mac away in my LT bag. I had it out once during a gathering of friends and my buddy (who was kind enough to show me some tricks!) had a drink in hand, I actually told him to get it away, In a nice way!

I'm just terrified of spilling anything on it, especially after reading about other 'mishaps'. I just think, better safe then sorry. After the AppleCare wares off, I may slightly change
