I try to eat mostly organic food, but I use my sensible head when buying.
If it's about 30% extra, then yeah why not. If it's 2 or 3 x the price, then no way, piss off!
If it tastes far better, then sometimes I'm happy to pay more than 30% extra.
I think some people confuse 'organic' food with 'health' food. A lot of 'health' food is the most disgusting ***** I ever put in my mouth, especially stuff that has been chemically processed to remove 'bad' things, or 'enhanced' with concentrated / added 'good' things. I try not to touch that stuff.
I used to live in Hackney in London, and there were no less that five different organic stores within 5 minutes walk - joy! Now, I live in Kilburn, NW london, and there's only one small rather expensive organic store nearby

(And of course the supermarket, which I try to avoid)
One thing for you USA people - the US has one of the world's lowest definitions of 'organic' as the food and chemical industry lobbied Congress like made to make the definition as flexible as possible. Millions of dollars of industrial lobby funding against a few pennies scraped together by some hippie dirt farmers?
Am I right that in the USA, organic milk still can't be labeled 'BGH free' as the milk industry claims that's scaremongering and libel against them?
I try to feed my baby daughter organic stuff whenever possible, tho some 'organic' food is still pretty rubbish for health. I was feeding her some 'kids organic health cereal' recently, and had some myself. I noticed it was rather sweet. Checked the packet. Nearly 30% sugar! Bloody hell!
So as always, use your head, check the packet, look for cheap organic, / low processed, don't buy foods you can't afford, or with high sugar or with ingredients you can't pronounce.

PS, my brother, a fount of wisdom sometimes, says "Don't eat food that doesn't go off. If mould / bacteria won't touch it, then it can't be good for you... "
