Yes! I'm living in it and Arcade Fire's EP at the moment.
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) is definitely one of the ones I was addicted to!

I think this song must contain drugs or something as I couldn't stop listening to it either! Was also listening to Illinoise a lot and my current addiction is Wilco's Kicking Television live CD.

Sorry for getting you addicted.

All the Neighborhoods are quite the "eargasm." :D

Well, my latest victim isn't Pon de Replay anymore, it's The Point of No Return by Immortal Technique.

I started listening to it a few days ago, and i've listened to it about 70 times already.

I can't get that new Tetris song out of my head. The one that's based off of an old Russian folk song I think. I have this rock version by some band called Ozma and YouTube has a techno music video of it.

Haha, I just downloaded it, and now i'm addicted.

Sufjan is amazing.

"Night Zombies" is my favorite track. Play counts at 102 on that. "Chicago" is close behind. The entire album is unbelievable though; definitely one of the best albums of all time IMO.

That's a bold statement, but I agree! Sufjan is really beyond words... Illinoise is an amazing album, start to finish. Songwriting, instrumentation, lyrics, use of historical references, etc... really, it's just such a unique yet strangely familiar sound. I dunno, it's hard to describe to someone who hasn't heard it.

My favorites are "Jacksonville" and "Palisades"

not since i've learned The Secret. i don't allow myself to become addicted. to anything.

as for playcounts, i believe the ipod totals are added to itunes only if your ipod is synced, and not on manual mode. just fyi

From time to time. I've recently found myself addicted to Lemon Jelly - "Only Time". Very very good track. so different to their normal stuff, sorta darkwave-ish. but totally not at the same time. The guitar and singing bit is what I'm addicted too. very hellish.

ps. you don't care about Lemon Jelly. But their stuff normally is very chilled clean ambient lounge music. Nice. happy. they run a design company called Air too. also very clean!

In the past I've been addicted to Inspiral Carpets "Two Worlds Collide" and New Orders "True Faith". still 2 of the best songs I've ever heard.

Theres this one song on my old imac thats been listened to almost 400 times, I still listen to it regulary on all my computers.

Nearly everytime I go on the computer I listen to it:)

I'm so glad, I'm not the only one here that listen to a song this much. Honestly, I feel relieve.

My top 10 most played are diverse (electronica, bluegrass, rock, pop, folk and country). I'll take the identity of these songs to my grave:D.

I think in order for you (and me) to stop playing these few songs, it is important for us to move. I really mean it. I think these songs have a personal connection and a unique special history.

I actually have quite a few versions for all these songs, sad really:D

Cinch

Yes, tons of them, i go through phases

From new music to old music to new music to old

New- Alternative new stuff

Old-Classic Rock

I'm in a Alternative mode right now:D

And i also get hooked to one song

Palisades at 2:31 onward is unexplainable good.

Jacksonville is lyrically awesome. But what the heck, like you said, everything about the album is as close to prefect as I think an entire album will ever be.

Two days ago I started listening to Dannii Minogue - Love Fight, and I have listened to it 48 times. I don't know if that's enough to count as "addicted" though.

I go through stages where certain songs just click with how I'm feeling. I've been pretty bummed out, so I've been listening to a lot of acoustic music. My current addictions are as follows:

Damien Rice: "Cheers Darlin'", "Cold Water", "Volcano", "Cannonball"

Copeland: "Coffee", "Take Care", "Pin Your Wings", "Don't Slow Down"... all 4 acoustic versions

David Ford: "I Don't Care What You Call Me"

The Starting Line: "The Best of Me" (Acoustic)

Pretty much everything by Elliott Smith

Put it all in a playlist and loop it... I'm in a depressing heaven

It seems that over the past day and a half that the song I'm currently stuck on is 'Goin' On' by the Flaming Lips off At War with the Mystics album. 8 times within the last hour, this can't be healthy.

I downloaded the Libertines. Don't look Back Into the Sun the other day after not hearing for a while and it's been listened to about 30 times already.

I think my signature speaks for itself. Thats right 14 versions of Total Eclipse of the Heart. It started off as a joke, then an obsession.

Total Eclipse of the Heart -5:30 Bonnie Tyler
Total Eclipse of the Heart -7:00 Bonnie Tyler

Total Eclipse of the Heart The Dan Band

Oh, I thought you meant a "song" not "unbridled crap."

At the moment I'm cranking "The Unguarded Moment" by The Church and next up is "Message to my girl" by Split Enz.

My guilty addiction song at the moment is "Africa" by Toto...

Might have to take back that jab at Rihanna, nah Toto is soooo much better than Rihanna.

all the time. rarely a period of obsessive listening will push a song over 100, usually that's just a product of repeated listening over time.

but often i'll listen to a song 30-40 times in a day or two if i'm reallllly into it before losing interest. more often is that same number in a couple of weeks, for instance "Fog" by Radiohead, the only song i could say i'm really obsessed with right now, i've listened to about 50 times over the past two weeks.

it's a whole process for me though, i'll often make a desktop/theme around said song, learn it on various instruments (usually just guitar and bass, i'm curiously interested in this song and have learned every instrumental part to it...), then move on.
