While on paper the large Pro is "only" 63% heavier than its 9.7 inch counterpart, on hands it feels like it's more than double the weight. I find the large Pro perfectly fine for on-desk operation, but I won't want to carry it around or bring it outside my home. In this sense, it's a laptop "replacement", since my 15-inch MacBook Pro seldom (if at all) leaves my home too due to the heft.

You're holding it wrong. This ain't no easy (put whatever software you want on me) Android or Surface tablet you're in bed with. You need to Apple Music play some Barry Manilow. Then, while listening to that sweet, sweet music coming out of your quad speakers, turn off the lights and let that Night Shift glow roll over you, and cuddle that iPad Pro. Oh yeah!

It depends on which ipad pro you have and what it replaces - device and task.

For me it was more handling it than the weight as my 12.9 was to replace my laptop for many situations. I benefited in the weight area (1.47kg laptop vs 1.05kg iPP+ASK).

Compared to the Air 2 yes it did take a few days. But I use it for way more things than I could ever get done on the small 9.7 profile, which was basically a media player and web browser.
