Hi, I am the developer of Tingalin and iFight. With Tingalin being my pride and joy and iFight just a side effect of the silly app bandwagon. Once Tingalin hit the store I got all sorts of requests and ideas from friends and fans one of them being a whip app. Seemed simple enought, something i can whip out in a few hours. Seeing that there already was a whip app in the store I refined the idea and added a few more sounds. My initial intent was to give it away for free to help promote Tingalin. But after working on it for two days and having a soar back from swinging objects to sample sounds I decided to charge the minimum. Stupid me I should have ate some beans and sampled some farts, would have been less work. After almost two months in review it finally hit the store and I have to say its doing better than I expected. Having said that, I am still willing to give it away for free if I knew that it would help with sales on my other app Tingalin. Simply for pride. So the question is: Do you ever visit the website of an app or look at other apps created by same developer? If you launched iFight and saw tingalin.com on the splash screen, would you visit it?

The story with Tingalin is that I got to be featured on TV by a very prestigious show Voice of America (see video on website http://tingalin.com) and several Albanian newspapers and magazines. It's hugely popular in Albania, Kosova, Montenegro and Macedonia. The problem is that iTunes store is not available in any of those countries and I get email every day from people asking how to get it. Being that Tingalin is targeting a niche market I would like to expose it to more Americans. It has made me lots of money so far but as more apps enter the store I can see sales dropping weekly and I would like to be up there with Ocarina!

I would love to hear feedback from you guys and thanks for reading this far.
Here are some codes for both apps:

    Thanks for codes I took

As far as your question. When I'm in iTunes I almost always click on the name of the developer to see what other apps they have available.

When in the actual app though I can't remember ever clicking on a link to the developers web site. I think most people see so many ads they block them out.

If I saw a splash screen with a link to your or any web site I wouldn't click it as I'm just starting app and wouldn't want to navigate away. I would check it out after game or later depending on how this app was. I'd do the same if no link was posted.

Ultimately I think the quality of the app will be a bigger factor in if the person will look for more apps from you then then a splash screen.

iFight looks like a nice start but I think it needs more sounds for each action. Would be nice if you had at 2-3 different sounds that way when doing a series of attacks it not the same noise always.

Tingalin is very nice but I'll update this in the morning with more info and leave a review. Haven't used it enough yet to give proper feedback.

No. I hardly ever go to the devs website unless it requires me to make an account first.

Thank you for your feedback guys. Sorry but the codes are only valid in the US Store. Also, please indicate which codes you have used so that others don't have to try every single one of them.

I just tried all of them for Tingalin and all are used.

Oh, and yes, I frequently go to developers' web sites, especially if an app is complex and sophisticated. A lack of documentation and instructions in the App Store is a problem.

So all the codes are gone and no feedback? Would those of you who used the codes like to offer any comments? What did you think of my apps?

PS, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa0p94e_xeY

I didn't get any of the codes :/

    But for your questions:

I ignore all ads or anything in an app. I block them out because I don't like them there so I won't pay any attention to them. My lone attempt to stop them from being there.

If I like a game or need more explanation on it, then yes I will go to the website of the game/developer.
    1. to see if there are forums where people discuss the app, and bugs. And to see if the developer actually takes time to read and respond to problems and questions.
    2. Get better instructions or video reviews for how to use the app if the app doesn't explain it.
    3. To see other apps they made to check them out, and will most likely give them a chance if I like the one I have by them.

I also hate Any app that provides buttons in their app that are weblinks to make safari open. That don't specifically say "this will open safari" So I know not to open it.
Especially on the menu page or something. Because I'll hit it and it take a long time to get back to the app. And I don't even let the website load.
I get so annoyed by this.

So all in all. Yes I go to the website sometimes, and no I don't like app ads.

Thank you, what I was really trying to get at is if there is a point to giving an app away for free. I guess the answer is yes if you have something else to sell to happy users or if you just don't care about making money.

I agree with you about having advertising on the app. I hate it and I would never do it myself. The only advertising I do is the typical splash screen with my website address on it. I figure if people use the app enough times it might make them want to check out the site.

Well what's good about giving away apps for free is to get good itunes reviews. Those reviews boost sales.
Also you can give them away to app reviewing websites and they will review your app and people will see the videos and go get your app.
Also, word of mouth, you never know who you are giving the app to. They could know a lot of people and tell everyone they know about it to get it.
    etc...

Well thanks for no adds in your apps. And yeah eventually they will probably go check out the website sooner or later.

BTW on your website, the iFight ad is nice. One thing though. If you want people to go to your site to see it and buy your other apps, it'd be nice to be able to easily access iFight. Currently there are no iTunes links to get iFight?
Make the Big red iFight ad a click-able link or the description words of it.
There are also those nice "available in the app store" links that you could use.
But yeah, right now I can't find a way to get your iFight from your website without searching iTunes? I can find the Tingalin links though.

Like your link in your signiture here.
    Thanks

Well to be honest I never thought iFight would take off so I just put a screenshot there just in case someone checking out tingalin would be interested in looking it up. iFight has only been in the store for about a week and it has been selling about 60 per day. As of right now it is on page 33 when sorted by most popular in the Entertainment category. At this rate it looks like I am going to have to put my focus on improving iFight and put Tingalin to the side for a while. iFight was in review by apple about two months and I got turned off and thought it took that long because they didn't like it. Hence the minimal advertising on my site. I guess you got a point there, I am going to go and fix it right now. Thanks for checking out my site. Did you see the picture of the president of albania playing Tingalin bottom of home page?

You changed it  awesome. Thanks for listening. Hope it helps your sales!

No problem. And yeah I saw those pictures. (didn't know who it was) but very cool! Not only did you get to meet him, he played your app :)

Congrats on your two apps and good luck.
