My hair is usually too short for product of any kind. But, once or twice a year I'll let it grow (barely) long enough to accommodate some gel. It takes me a couple of years to go through even a small tube/bottle of gel.
I don't do anything with my hair except for shampoo, conditioner, and the occasional haircut. I have naturally oily hair though, in combination with a haircut that depends solely on gravity which eliminates the need for any more hair products.
I'm also having a faux hawk (yeah, same length/style like David Beckham, although I'm not a huge fan of him) -- it stays like that with water, without tampering it, so maybe I don't need gel, but often it loses shape (so I probably need gel).
bah, I'll try gel tomorrow then cream the day after. the problem with cream is that I run a few km everyday and I sweat like... a human sweating. I'm scared that the cream will dribble down all over my face, into my eyes and whatnot
When my hair is short I have to use a tiny bit of gel to keep it from floating around and looking static-y. I'll also tousle it up a bit in the front most of the time...as I don't like it sitting on my forehead.
My profile pic just happens to be when I slicked my hair back for halloween last year...as you can tell from this pic it doesn't actually look like I use gel.
Clearly not a good representation of my hair but it was just sitting on my desktop as I made it my facebook pic the other day...
I use gel, mainly because my hair is very straight and generally wants to stick straight up when not tamed by some sort of hair product. Mind you I do try to keep the gel use at a minimum, I wish I could do something else with it; I think I'm getting too old to use gel.
