I usually have mine at half. When I'm at work browsing MR instead of working (like now!) then I typically turn it down further so that people can't see what I'm doing :p

I adjust it as necessary though; for example I'll turn it up when watching a video, but most of the time I keep it sitting at halfway or below.

Full brightness day or night, dark or light! Same with my 24" ACD.

Still have 20/20 vision.

I adjust it depending on the situation... but generally speaking I try to have it as low as possible to save my eyes, the screen´s lifespan and battery life - unless I'm working on something that requires a great deal of detail.

cheers!

Just about this much:

Right now I'm at 1 tick from the bottom, but there are no lights on in my room at the moment. Earlier today I had it about half way, maybe two ticks more. 100% brightness seems to be very bright to me.

save your eyes

i normally set mine to half way, but this varies a couple of clicks depending on the ambient lighting. for all of you who are turning it up to the max constantly, all I can say is think about your eyes. Overly bright displays and glare can really mess up your eyes - esp in older age...

That's part of the reason I went for the anti glare screen option. i can setmy screen to slightly lower brightness levels without needing to compensate for reflections etc
