Only for the gym or when going out on a weekend night drinking. Those are the times I tend to drop my phone. Otherwise I am careful enough not to mess it up badly. I just don't want it to drop and shatter.

This is why exactly I got a case for my iPhone. Other than that is naked :D

Sometimes you have to wear shoes. Sometimes you need a case too. Can't always go barefoot

Need a case when:

Working in the yard, moving the lawn or just running errands where the phone is placed here and there in the car.
Or when you know the phone will be passed around for others to view photos. You may be careful, but you can't trust others.
In the winter, with gloves on, a case works better for grip

But when in the office going naked is fine.

It just is what it is. No need to use the phone the same way every day. Just like work clothes or wearing a suit.

My case currently is the SwitchEasy Tones.

I do. When I first ordered the 5 I said I wasn't going to use a case with it. Once I recieved it I changed my tune. It has nothing to do with scratches and wear. The darn thing is just to slick. I'd be dropping it all the time. So I got a smoke TPU case and am very happy for the time being. I'm hoping Magpul releases a case for the 5 and I'll pre-order the first opportunity.

Lifeproof. It has its ups and downs. The acoustics are absolutely terrible but being completely waterproof is nice.

No case here. I'm careful not to put anything in my pocket with the iPhone 5. I haven't used a case on any of the iPhones - so far so good!

I have a Speck Grip case on mine. I'm clumsy, so I need the extra grip. The case is very unobtrusive though. The phone still feels very light and thin with it on.

Most people put their Iphone5 in a case to give it some protection from bumps, scuffs, drops etc. There are few if any cases that really add beauty to the Iphone5. However better safe than sorry.

No, naked 5. Black and still flawless. And considering most people buy loads of cases because the majority of them are rubbish it'd be cheaper to just insure the phone and enjoy it without adding awful ugly bulky covers.

I totally agree with you. I find the naked phone very slick as well. I feel more comfortable with a slim case with a little grip.

And I also agree with you as well - I'm one of those who has bought a ton of cases and most of them are surely junk.

However, my favorites after sorting through all the junk have been some of the cheapest ones out there - Noot bumper style with frosted back. No branding, fairly slim with decent protection and grip.

didn't want a fat otterbox because it would ruin the experience for me. Wanted something leather and smooth. And a wallet to boot. Found this case:

Handmade in Canada. Nice leather, nice case, decent drop protection and I don't have to carry a wallet anymore. Tip: get the upper left corner of the silicone case stitched to the leather. it works better that way.

otterbox defender with the screen protector removed.

Same here... Otterbox really stepped up their game for the iPhone 5 compared to the iPhone 4/4S defender series.

I haven't used a "screen protector" since my iPhone 3G... And I have never regretted it. They aren't worth it IMO

Agreed. No case or screen protectors on mine since launch day, but still looks new. I have AppleCare+ so I'm not overly concerned about it. :)

The perfect case so far, for me, is the Belkin Grip Candy. Even though I may already have the perfect case, I'm constantly on the lookout for new cases. It's an addiction. The SwitchEasy Tones looks very appealing. Will probably be my next case.

I also want to try the bumper+skins look.

The Bumper and skin is what Im going with. More specifically a bumper and a real wood skin. Such an awesome looking combo which allows for a lot of personal customization. You can really choose what you want your "case" to look like rather than just picking from a few colors each company offers.

Just a clear incase snap case for my iPhone 5. Doesn't take too much away from the overall look and feel but still adds that little bit of protection.

Then sometimes I go naked just for fun.

Yep, using a Casetagram case now and LOVE IT. It's so much thinner than I expected it to be (I was thinking along the lines of an Uncommon case). I got the transparent one so the sides are still visible, which I also quite like. Obviously, it's not going to save me from drops, but it will keep scratches at bay, so I'm happy with it.

That's what I was planning on going with at first as well, having used an Element Vapor Pro and various skins from DecalGirl, SkinIt, etc., on my 4S, but beware if you're a person who likes to switch up skins with any frequency at all. They cling like a mother to the non-glass portion of the back and get stretched out like crazy even if you're meticulous when removing them, or at least all of mine did.
