Let's do a poll, because a big percentage on the web is affected by this WiFi issue.
Please, before voting, try to stay not so close to the router, because it clearly seems that the issue doesn't appear when your very close.
Use this thread only for voting.
If you want to discuss the problem, there's already a big thread:

I think were on to it
3.2.2 to 4.2 GM, NO betas installed, no wifi problems
Hey, no bother; and I'm not saying don't bump your thread with a call for votes, I'm just suggesting that you should encourage voting whatever people's experience is, not just those with issues.![]()
As I posted in the other thread, "If you are having WiFi issues, did you install a beta of 4.2 prior to installing the Gold Master version?
I have done a Restore/Backup from 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 to the GM of 4.2. No Wifi issues.
I suggest if you are having a problem to do a clean restore to 4.2 and do not use your backup."
Just tried to downgrade to 3.2.2 and restore to 4.2 GM. No lucky.
How so? Because you couldn't do the downgrade/restore or because you did it and things didn't change?
I assume all is fine under 3.2.2 (if you can downgrade)...?
Yeah, sorry. I've been able to downgrade and on 3.2.2 everything works fine.
Then, restoring to 4.2 GM and setting up as a new iPad, I'm experiencing the WiFi issue.
Do you restore to 3.2.2 and set up as new or use a backup?
I did a restore from 4.2 beta 3 to 4.2 GM, setting up a new iPad — not from a backup — and I'm experiencing the issue.
Could the passage from a beta be the problem?
I originally voted that I have no issues, but yesterday I found out that my ipad has indeed problems with the wifi connection. At home I have none issues because my router has a stark signal everywhere. When on the road, I use a mifi router and yesterday I found out that the distance plays a very big role. My iPad loses data throughput as soon as I move it at least 2,5 meter away from the router! I believe that all iPads experience the same issue. it is just sth that most people haven't noticed because of the way the iPad connects to the router. Every house or flat is different, so it is not easy to reproduce the issue, but I believe that if we take a ipad that apparently doesn't have any issue, and give it to someone that has the issue, then the first ipad will experience the same behavior.
Agree. Maybe someone is just lucky with the router signal.
Or maybe we are the unlucky.![]()
