Bought my iPad at a campus location. My questions is: do you HAVE to do exchanges at the Apple store, or do 3rd party retailers also do them?

I'm asking because Apple, obviously, doesnt have the model I have in stock. Meanwhile, the store I bought it at does.

Before I trek over there, maybe one of you can give me an answer :)

You don't HAVE to, no. That said, Apple would serve you at the genius bar and generally they do not use retail boxed units for exchanges etc. Not sure what the situation is with that at the moment though (due to shortages etc).

Return of new units for exchange of another new unit are made at the store you bought it at (Apple, Target, BB, Campus Store). If you bought at an Apple store then you can exchange at any Apple store. It doesn't have to be the location you bought it at originally.
