The reason I ask is probably paranoid - but is there any chance of the largest iPads getting damaged when you hold them so that your thumb is like a fulcrum and the rest of the iPad weighs down, especially in landscape where the "lever" is much longer? It seems silly, but I am always affraid the iPad would bend slowly over time if you often hold it like that (and no, not talking about the latest iPads - I've had that feeling with previous ones, too).

Please someone tell me that I'm being silly.

    You're being silly :p

I don't think they'll bend under their own weight, because physics, more likely to drop one holding it in this way - that's about the only thing I can think of.

I’ve got first Gen, and depending on how i’m Standing / Sitting I use palm of hand behind or fulcrum position as you describe. Very rarely dropped it using either method. No bend either.

Hold it and the old 12.9” that way all the time. Have had no issues with doing that.
