Honestly I don't know why they decided to keep the "icons flying back" animation when you use 5 fingers. Why not just make it the standard zooming out of an app like when you press the home button? It would work a lot better now. The old animation was good because apps zoomed from the center of the screen always.

I own an iPad 3 and yes animation is choppy.
But not only animation but a lot of other things like when you type it takes time before you can see what are you typing, keyboard is laggy on show up...
I really hope that more polished version of iOS7 coming out soon.
My iPhone 4 w iOS7 i don't want even discuss it....
