Being that I actually have one, I found what works is saying "Oh thats just the media, it doesn't really bend."

And that simple I hard close and move on. Because what people are really thinking when they say that is, if its true.

So since you have one you are in their mind able to convince them if you just believe in it. They are more trying to find info from you rather than having fully made up their minds.

Its quite possible to remind people about and relate to the fact that media manipulates stuff. They are just wondering if this one is true.

So I just simply say it doesn't bend.

(Of course you can always go with "does it bend?" -- "no but my d*#& does" depending on the formality of the situation)

Like others that have posted here, I've run into a lot of people in the real world who see my iPhone 6 and say "I've heard it bends" or some variation of that.

I used to have a full defense ready (1: the initial video was faked, 2: 9 out of 10 million have been reported to bend, 3: consumer reports found it no more bendable than the HTC One or other smartphones, and 4: the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference, and the fact that so many people are passionate about the phone means Apple is doing something very right).

Of course, most people tune out halfway through that. So now I have a new strategy.

1. They ask if it bends
2. I ask them what phone they have
3. No matter what the response, I then ask "do you mind if I try to bend your phone?"

People always immediately respond "no!" They often look somewhat defeated when they realize their phone could also bend. Then, if I want to use a finishing move, I say "the fact that objects bend under force isn't a surprise, it's physics."

This actually so far has worked remarkably well, and just wanted to give this option to you guys that are still having to deal with this question as well!

I wonder why it's your responsibility to defend the reputation of your phone. I don't have an iP6 yet, but when I do, if someone asks about the bending, I'll probably shrug and say I haven't had any issues with mine (assuming of course that I haven't). If people are worried about getting one because of the bending, that's not my problem. Let them do their own research and make a choice.

I'd just laugh and go along with the comment. No sense in trying to convince some stranger otherwise. You know the capability of your phone, that is all that matters.

If someone asked me if they could bend my phone, I'd answer Yes.

Under the condition that they pay me full retail first.

I think I'd hold my phone, look at it and them and say, yea I heard it bends to.

Just this morning on a flight: "hey is that the new bendable phone?".

Yes sir, Mr. funny guy, it most certainly is.

couple guys came up to me and asks if my phone bended.

I told them, its all sensationalized and the media blew it way out of proportion.

One of the guys sucker punched me from the left, (i didn't see him) and I stumbled back. Guy on the right started trying to grab the phone out of my hand. I wasn't cornered so I started running. Once I ran around the corner, I heard them running behind me. I am not in the greatest shape, so I new they would catch up with me. I started just yelling help because I didn't know what else to do. There were a few people around (outside mall area) but they just were looking, and didn't want to help.

So i just turned around, and kind of gave the universal "back up sign" while walking backwards. The same guy that tried to grab it earlier grabbed my phone and I just gave up at that point. He then bent the phone with his bare hands like on the viral video. Then threw it at my feet. All of them just laughed and left while people were just staring. Anyway, I immediately went to the police after that, and I believe security postive ID'd a couple of them because they are always hanging around the mall. Anyway, it just goes to show that the whole bending thing is getting crazy.

TL;DR gang of guys were hell bent on bending my phone.

Just another day in the life of a 6 Plus owner.

Haters gonna hate.

That is seriously scary... what is up with people...:(

I have a 6+ on the way and I hope women ask me if it bends. Perfect conversation starter!

I asked a guy in my office with a Note 3 if I could bend his phone. (Jokingly...he's a really good guy and is not an Anti-Apple troll or anything). He said, um, no you may not try. He knew I was pointing out the absurdity of this whole thing, and his response: "It seems pretty simple to me. If I have my phone, or any phone, in my back pocket, I'm not going to sit on it."

Sums it up nicely.
