Also, what carrier normally delivers? Can you have carrier hold for pickup? Thanks!!

usually, yes. you can presign to have it left, if you are brave.

usually UPS delivers our iPhones (ordered directly from apple).... i think one year fedex may have? and i think fedex delivers for at least one of the carriers if you ordered from them

This. When the phone ships online at apple.com there is a blue-button that will appear next to your order that says, "pre-sign for delivery". Click that and print and place on your door. Again, this is at your own risk.

I can imagine some scrupulous UPS drivers seeing any pre-sign for iPhones as his to take home for himself.

I'm gonna have it held at the UPS hub for pickup. I work a mile and a half from one so a quick stop during lunch means I'll have it hours before UPS usually gets to my neighborhood.

UPS ships a lions share of Apple's products, right?

What are the chances that you can change your shipment address? Going out of town on launch day and there is an apple store where I'm headed...possible they can send it there?

Can’t you have it ship to a ups/fedex store and pick it up from there?

Yes, usually, but it depends on the shippers instructions. Some shippers do not allow this. Also I think this option is only available if you register online with UPS and FedEx respectively.

I'll have the sitter home so someone will be able to sign but previously I was able to leave the FedEx pre-signed note on the door and they left it. HOWEVER when my wifes "replacement" iPhone was being sent back to us after repair by apple sometime last year, the FedEx driver didn't leave the phone despite the pre-sign slip on the door. I asked the next day and he never gave me an answer on why he didn't leave it. he gave me the package then ran off which was very strange? so food for thought but YMMV.

Good in fo to have, thank you!

More than likely, UPS, then.

And be sure you have a safe place for them to leave it if you pre-sign! Package thieves have gotten way worse! I worry about cheaper packages being left.... no way am I brave enough to leave an $1100+ phone on my porch for half the day til I get home from work!

I've heard that fedex and ups drivers have the discretion of leaving the package or not.... so if they know or think it's not safe to do so... they don't have to.... like I said I've HEARD that.... don't know if it's 100% true!

Ahhhhhh... that's what cameras are for! My regular ups guy is AWESOME.... but I think he's also smart enough to know there are several cameras recording him! his subs.... notsomuch! (and one has plumber's crack when he bends over to put the packages down!! hahahaha! )

UPS is a pretty good job-I can’t imagine someone risking it to get an iPhone a little early....but people surprise me continually with their stupidity.
