Agree. Plus, it's rumored to have a 5.8" display and the one portrayed in that render is bigger than the standard S8 which also has a 5.8" display. Make the display go straight across just below the sensors and they match up.
We shall see what Apple has under their sleeve this Fall.

It's ironic though that Samsung will have a more symmetrical phone design than Apple, if that rendering is accurate. Remember how important symmetry was? Rene over at iMore would explode.

See, that's the thing. Apple is CRAZY about symmetry. I just don't think they'd do that. It may have tiny bezels. But they'll be equal on the top and bottom.
I don't think it is easy to cut out OLED like that. It may not be possible all at the moment. Even S8 rounded corners are not cut out. They use an black overlay cover it.

I think I'll be getting some good Android device as my daily driver unless Apple comes up with something amazing (and not exclusive to the US) at WWDC. The iPhone 7 has been otherwise fine, but I really miss being able to pay with my phone and now that my current car supports Bluetooth only for calls but has an aux jack for media, I'd be better off with something little less courageous when it comes to connectivity.
I have compiled a list of things in favor of Android (specifically S8)
Hardware
- Large OLED infinity WQHD+ display with high 85% screen/body ratio
- Wireless Charging
- Fast Charging (full charge in 1 hr 30 mnin)
- Headphone jack
- Dual SIM card (some countries)
- MicroSD card support (additional 256 GB)
- Built-in pedometer + heart rate/SP02 sensor
- IRIS scanner - for security
- USB/UTG
- Bluetooth 5.0
Connectivity
- WIFI Display (or miracast) built-in. Mirror phone screen to any wifi-capable TV without need of any additional setup/intermediate hardware. Plus if you connect a wireless mouse/keyboard via UTG to phone then you have pseudo-desktop
- DLNA built-in support : stream music/video to any DLNA enabled devices without needing any setup.
- Sidesync : operate phone from any PC/mac within wifi network. Phone screen appears as a virtual window in PC/mac. You can use PC mouse/speaker to make calls or continue editing or run any apps in the phone from the PC. Similar to Iphone hand-off but more flexible.
- DEX docking station- transform phone into a desktop.
- Transfer any files between any devices via Wifi-Direct / BT. No additional setup/hardware requirement.
- Plug in disk/thumbdrive/mouse/gamepad directly to phone using usb cable and use. Easily and quickly transfer out your files/photos/videos. Or just play a video off your portable drive. Or use a gamepad to play games. Or use mouse to interact with phone.

Multi-Window - run apps in 2 separate top/bottom windows or popup windows. e,g continue to view you tube while you are doing a whatsapp chat.
Secure Folder - it is like a second login environment. It has a separate copy of system settings. You can install second copy of your app here and it runs in its own seperate data space. e.g. with dual-sim, you can concurrently run 2 copies of whatsapp (one for work number and the other personal) and get notify at the same time. Or setup another Google account in secure folder to sync confidential email at same time with your other accounts.
Game launcher - a separate environment to launch games. You can set sound, notify on/off, no accidental touches, boost performance etc
Immersive mode - set the top status or bottom navigation (or both) to auto-hide to maximise screen area. Can set exclusion for certain apps. Can have floating panel with home, back, task buttons for easy one handed use.
Set default app - you can set any app to be default to handle different kind of files/data.
Shortcut - create shortcuts icon to anything: direct dial/sms, to open battery usage in Settings directly, open specific screen of an app directly etc. Place shortcuts anywhere - in homescreen, notification, side panel etc.
Home/Launcher - fully customizable with themes, widgets, icon packs and live wallpapers - no more boring grid of icons. You can also use other launchers as well. Personalize your UI anyway you like.

There are unlimited possibilities with Android multi-tasking capability. You can setup tasks which the phone can do automatically for you. This opens up quite a lot of use cases not possible with Iphone. These are some examples I have running in my phone.
- auto set ring/network profile depending on situations (at home/work/outdoors)
- auto send SMS when near pickup location (great if you pick up someone regularly)
- redirect important calls to covering when you are engaged.
- start call recording when calls from certain persons.
- auto change wallpaper based on events.
- mute/unmute ring based on calendar meetings.
- timed ring profile.
- tap on NFC sticker - initiated certain tasks.
- auto send canned SMS to birthday
- smart lock
- pull files from certain ftp/http locations to phone periodically or when certain parameters changed
- selective sync from cloud storage to local folders
- auto start/close apps when certain app is started.
- start music app when headphone is plug in
- start certain app(s) on phone remotely or using a SMS.
-set screen to landscape when certain apps are launched.
-auto read out received sms/whatsapp under certain preset conditions like driving/phone turned over/etc

None of that really changes that subjective is subjective, "in favor of" is completely subjective.

Hmm. I'm trying to map out my upgrade path. After sticking with the same form factor for so long it seems Apple finally got it perfected in IPhone 7 Plus (for me). The only thing missing is stereo audio recording capability. But I have a plug in mic for that.
I am most certainly very interested in the iPhone 8 but it will cost too much for me to feel comfortable choosing a first generation version of the new form factor. Meanwhile my iPhone 7 Plus cost too much for me to abandon it after only 1 year. So I plan to skip iPhone 8 and hang onto my 7 Plus and get at least 2 years out of it.
I like my S8+ a lot for all of the cool Android abilities listed in the post before mine. So I'm definitely keeping to an Android upgrade path as well. I don't feel my S8+ is the ultimate version of the experience but it's really excellent. So I will hand off the S8+ to a family member or sell or trade it in. The Note 8 is what I'm pegging my hopes on for the ultimate experience that I will stick with for 2 years or more.
I will run an iPhone 7 Plus and Note 8 team for as long as I can. That's the plan, anyway.
At some point I do need to stop upgrading phones because I need to turn my attention to my desktop computer situation and budget. I also kind of need to update my wardrobe. I hate clothes shopping but a gal can get by on jeans and t-shirts only so much and meanwhile my dress clothes got old and out of style while I wasn't paying attention.

Just returned after giving my CFA exam. Are there any concrete leaks on iPhone 8 out yet as to the fingerprint sensor?
I'm waiting to see what happens in September. I don't really focus on rumors so I'm waiting to see what iOS 11 brings to the table in conjunction with new hardware. But who am I kidding I just bought an iPhone 7 and will be getting one of the next generation of phones. I tend to buy my phones in November when I can walk into an Apple Store and play with them after some of the excitement and crowds have died down.

It's a Foxconn Insider's "AMA" on Reddit. They said Apple struggled to get a FP sensor to work underneath a glass, so a rear one is very possible, but that was on a Pre-Chinese New Year model.
Yeah it worked out really great for our family to have bought our iPhone SE's and 7 Pluses 2-3 months after release. Preordering was always so much fun for so many years as well as lining up at the AT&T store a couple of times. But waiting gives us the opportunity to get exactly the colors and specs we want--usually.

Middle one was confirmed by some guy from Foxconn on Reddit today, but take it w/ a grain of salt since it is really early.
The next iOS in wwdc is usually an indicator of what's to come on the next generation iPhones. Any features you guys are waiting in that would make you switch back to iPhone?

Split-screen multi-tasking is a huge must. Apple doesn't do enough to take advantage of a bigger screen. A file system helps. Night mode, better widgets, better power saving modes, customizable control center toggles, enhanced Siri, multiple user accounts, Group FaceTime, Touch ID to lock apps, a UI overhaul, default apps.
