Could not agree more. It was a tragic how fast I went from elated to distressed when I first saw Modular Ultra but then learned it was Ultra only.



I've still got my fingers crossed that it could happen this year for the 10 year anniversary.

Yeah, I mean it made sense to me with the aesthetics matching the Ultra, but there should have been something built similar for the standard watches.

It drives me completely crazy that you can only get the red-filter display on the Ultra. I've been dying for that feature for years.

Apple has to push people to buy the Ultra. Marketing 101.

Yeah, definitely. Having a screen on my body is bad enough, I'd at least like it to be as low key as possible.

Was actually just imagining the possibility of a screen-less, Siri/Apple-Intelligence-driven "iWatch Shuffle" the other day… I'd switch to something like that in a heartbeat. I really just want the thing to to track my vitals and "bump" my wrist when new messages or reminders come through, can pull out my phone after that.

You could use an automation to turn your watch red at a certain time each day to try and mimic that feature if you don't have an Ultra.

Hm? I'm not aware of any way to tint the entire screen red.

Sorry, what I meant was use an automation to change the font or dial to red. Basically just set up a second watch face that is the same but with red font or dial and then run an automation to change the face at a certain time each day between the two. Its not a perfect solution but could be useful I suppose.

Oh, yeah I've been using faces with red dials all along, but the complications and "marks" around the dial are all white so… no, not really getting what I want out of it.

Not sure about Ultras, but on "basic" watches, Nike Digital and X-Large gets one in the ballpark. Use those for my bedtime and night time faces respectively.

Absolutely. There's absolutely no reason (besides wanting us to pay more for an Ultra) why one shouldn't exist. Remove that outer ring, decrease the font size of the time in the center, and you've got a watch face for the regular watch.
