Just curious when holding the dispkay sideways to watch videos, streaming content, etc.....if users prefer the notch to the LEFT or the notch to the RIGHT ?

If there’s a reason feel free to elaborate why you like the notch facing one way or the other.

I prefer the notch when watching video to the right.

If I hold it with the notch to the left, the way I hold my phone with my hand would cut off the speaker.

I ended up getting used to my volume buttons on the topright too.

I see by default content wants to swing where the notch is to the left and I always have to flip it around the other way. Sort of annoying. Then I wondered what the consensus was.

Would be nice to be able to choose which side content swings to when you turn the phone sideways.

I find I hold it with notch to the left. Not really sure why I do it this way. I don't really think about it!

Maybe because I also have an iPad with a Touch ID sensor, and when I rotate that, I rotate it so the home button is on the right. I find that more comfortable to press, as a right-handed person. So maybe that's just the ingrained behavior in my head.

I’m right handed, so I’ll rotate my phone to the left (and the notch will be on the left). Been doing it this way for 10 years, didn’t change it when I got my first phone with a notch.

It’s funny because even when the screen was a perfect rectangle (and orientation didn’t matter) I wouldn’t be 100% comfortable if the phone was not facing left.

Who would in his right mind would prefer notch, explain to me this first then we will talk about the poll. I want the notch on the back of the iPhone next to 3 giant cameras.

I rotate my iPhone so the notch is on the right. Not sure why I do that, I used to rotate my 8 so the home button was on the left. I’m right handed, so it doesn’t really make much sense! But I just prefer the notch on the right

When taking photos I rotate 90 degrees clockwise so the volume (shutter) button is at the top - so the notch is on the right. From this habit I'll do the same thing when I want to see stuff in landscape mode.

True. Love to see it go but.......

Anyone who actually wants security right now, seems there’s nothing better. So you can say you want to push innovation but at the cost of security, no thank you. Here is a recent example.

Samsung's new high-tech fingerprint reader on the latest Galaxy smartphones has a major flaw: It can be fooled by the residue left by your fingers on a screen protector. The company is warning customers who own the latest Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 phones to remove their screen protectors until Samsung releases a software update.

Not to mention those that are trying can’t get it right because it’s not that easy as it looks.

So there something to be said about moving at a pace where things just work.
