I've had a SS with no protection since launch. I'm pretty hard on it but the screen is still perfect. However, body has taken a beating. Definitely very scratched up and a few dents (!).

However, I also don't care. It looks good with the scratches and dents. More character more like a "patina" that will grow over time.

It's still super shiny and no one else would notice all the scratches and dents.

I plan to wear mine hard and let the finish do what it's going to do. Long before the watch would look "beat up" I'll more than likely be replacing it anyway :)

That's what I was thinking. For about a year that I use it, it will only be scratched up by so much.

do you guys have screen protector or case on your watch? I feel like I should because I don't want to scratch it. At the same time I don't even feel like wearing it while I exercise because Its just too "pretty" lol.

god no. They are ridiculous on phones, and on these watches it's beyond ridiculous. It's embarrassing even. Just be aware of your surrounds and keep the watch on your wrist. You can't baby and protect everything.

My SS link bracelet has scuffs at the clips... can't do anything to protect it, it's just the nature of steel.

Same thing here.

Part of the reason I went with the SS was because I thought it would be tougher than the Sport, especially the screen. So no, I don't use any kind of protectors. I've had my watch for a week and a half now and I haven't babied it one bit. I wear it during workouts and while doing yard work. I've mowed the lawn twice, and used the string trimmer once to do edging work. Especially when doing the edging, all sorts of grass and dirt gets flung right at my wrist. So much so that the crown got stuck for the first time. I just rinsed it under water to clear things out and everything was fine. And no visible scratches on the side that was facing all the debris.

As for sweat, you can't avoid it here in Houston in the summer with all the humidity. You practically start sweating just looking out the window. But I wear my watch during workouts without any concerns. When I'm done the underside looks like I just got out of the pool. I just rinse it off and go.

The only time I've decided not to wear the watch was when I was working with a chainsaw to cut up a tree that fell during Tropical Storm Bill. And that was mostly due to safety concerns. I wouldn't have worn any watch or any other jewelry aside from my wedding ring. I'll probably also take it off when I work on the car, since I don't want to find out what oil and grease will do to it.
