do you put the windows genuine sticker?

are we needed to put the windows genuine sticker (http://www.webmarkets.com.au/images/09-05/XP_Optima.jpg) on a machine if install windows on it? i just dont wanna put any sticker on my beloved mbp 🙂 and im too lazy to read windows EULA whether i needed to put the sticker or not 😛

No, you can file it away for safekeeping. The sticker only really matters if you intend to sell the machine with Windows still installed on it.

If you buy an OEM version of Windows, you're supposed to affix the sticker to the computer. But I will NEVER do that. I just stick it on the front of the little Windows manual.

I don't condone software piracy, but any EULA that forces me to put a sticker on my computer can go suck it, selling it or not.

Inside the battery compartment seems to be the logical place for this, and on iMacs, you can put it on the bottom of the stand...

I'm assuming that you've only ever used Linux then? Surely someone with such high moral standards would never steal, whether or not he is stealing from a "monopolist".

yeah, so i dont need to stick the sticker. i just dont like sticker on my machine. my dell laptop have intel sticker, designed for windows sticker, windows genuine sticker and many other serial number sticker.. not like my mbp, its very 'clean' i like it.
