I typically remember the ladies who post here. Whether it's due to the fact that so few regular MR posters are female, or whether it's do the the simple fact that they are female, I don't know.

6502 + members with good avatars are easy to remember, but I often find myself also recognizing sub 500 posters with witty sigs or locations.

those I've had PM's with also catch my eye as well.

As others have said. If you have an avatar I'll probably remember you. If not, then I won't :). I tend to remember the people in the programming, digital video and mac pro sections the most.

Have you noticed? Only two posts out of 53 on this thread don't have avatars.

I tend to remember people on the forums, not everyone, but quite a few. As has been said before, having an avatar helps, unless someone is around for quite a while before getting one. No, I don't answer differently to different people.

I suspect that not a lot of people remember me. (Did someone say something??) Maybe it's because I'm in the UK I'll post in a thread that's been running overnight and that's it. No more posts. At least I get the last word! :)

edesignuk for his bountiful help with Windows-Mac networking and now-gone pictures of Keira.

Also, kiwitheiwik, for his awesome avatar. My favorite of all time.

I also remember his pics of keira...

I remember iGary telling me to get over myself when I was about to cancel my order of the 17" powerbook, for not shipping when they said it would, back when it first came out in 2003.

I mostly remember peoples' avatars. I've noticed that in the past few years, the people who post on this site are different than the people who posted just a few years ago. I also remember certain threads...

the dynamics have changed over the years, its the beauty of the forums. always changing. :p

since this thread i've realized that i remember people's 'names' fairly often, and its associated with their 'tar if they have one.

certain threads always will stick out too in my mind.

i remember when there was worry about e becoming a mod. and his pictures of keira and his one angelina thread.

I recall people all the time, and will follow a thread if it involves someone that I feel has provided good information or a decent argument in previous posts. I generally remember the Avatar before I remember the name though.

Just to add my thoughts, I remember both names and avatars, but rarely names on their own.

One of those semi-photographic memory things, i think.

I remember twoodcc, QCassidy352, and ziwi mainly because of the Nike+ running thing (hint if you have a nike+ sports kit, you should join the challenges). :) Also there is ghall, if you read/post in his threads you are sure to laugh.

...and most of the time it's at me. :p

LOL

Ghall... I love that kid.:D

I love you too Prof. :D

I remember quite a few people on these forums, especially those with avatars. As many other have also stated. Many of those "witty" posts also get stuck in my memory, like the madjew himself, for example.

Others who's comments often attract my attention are edesignuk, iBlue, Doylem, Clix Pix, Freebooter, Valdore (I obviously spend much time in the DP section of MR), Ghall, .jessica, Mord, etc. Love the community here.

:)

I am honored to be among the people who's comments attract your attention. :D

Anyway, I'm not very good at remembering usernames, I mainly identifiy users by there avitars, though I seem to vaguely recall the usernames Mad Jew, Deviolet, Doctor Q, Cassie.....and more.

Its interesting to read this thread from a newbies point of view. This forum is really beginning to feel like home, and I haven't been here long at all. You all have established relationships together and its fun to learn whos who. I've come to recognize a lot of people in the short time I've been here, xUKHCx for his kind compliments, valdore and doylem for their crazy awesome photographs, Arn (duh!), a lot of the mods.

Anyways, its cool to see how people come to think of each other in this type of setting.

And now I will go away since I don't really belong in this thread anyways.

You aren't a newbie, you're a regular. Besides, you joined at the same time I did.

So, as a 6502, here is my official reply to the thread. :D

I remember MacBoy108 for his thoughtful comments on my threads, Cassie for her constantly purple handwriting, jsw for his awesome avatar, and Multimedia for being the stuff of MR legend... :p

you should remember me and my (longest running) avatar too then since you kinda jacked my idea... but mine rules much much more anyway. :p But I change avatars A LOT.

iConatar.gif <- made that all by my little lonesome. :)

Interesting thread, it made me smile to see that I've been noticed by non-demis.

This place gets into your head, I think of people from here all the time. Made some good friends from people I've met from this forum too.

The main time I remember people is after getting into heated political arguments on the Relig./Soc. forum. :p

I think it would be interesting to set up some kind of quiz to see who everyone remembers based on avatar. Like some kind of multiple choice or matching quiz. Too bad I don't have much website creation knowledge. :)

I remember iGary because he was on Airline and had that big issue with is Quad Core PowerMac G5. That and his sudden disappearance, I think he is now working for Apple!

iBlue, because she seems like she is sexy, but don't know for sure so don't ruin my internet fantasy :D.

DoctorQ due to the whole James Bond thing and whether not he was a man or a women or something in between. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just that I thought the whole thread was a little silly.

I think there are others, those are just the ones that popped in my head while ready the thread!
