Everything is either streamed or downloadable now.

There was this crowd-sourced audit from August 2018 that identified 350+ movies (1980 or newer) not available for legitimate streaming. There are several notable titles in there. (Catalogs are constantly changing, so the list is outdated.)

Personally, I cannot find Lathe of Heaven, True Lies, or The Abyss from a legitimate streaming provider in the USA.

It’s storing the things I had issue with. I had over 200 at one point and they were just in a cardboard box in my garage so I sold them. I also like only having a PVR under my TV rather than a range of devices. The clutter just lost the battle and had to go lol.

Same. I am downsizing. Less is more.

If I'm buying physical disks then I buy the latest format which is now 4K UHD. Haven't bought a dvd in probably over 15 years?

I've been wanting True Lies on Bluray at least. Being a James Cameron film I'm surprised it hasn't been released already.

The good news is that it is only a few months away.

The bad news is that it has been only a few months away for several years now.

I don't like when it is just a 3D conversion but I watch it anyway.

I think early conversions were lazy and badly done. They have given conversions in general a bad reputation.

But many conversions have been done with a lot of care and the 3D results are quite good. Terminator 2, Doctor Strange, and Gravity for example.

The very name "T2 3D" makes it sound like a piece of crap studio cash grab. But it is so well done, it was like seeing it new again. What a treat.

Well apparently it's done, just waiting for his final review/ok. https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/true-lies-blu-ray-done-end-2018-says-james-cameron/

That was several months ago so I guess we'll keep on waiting forever, lol.

Every 6 months there's something like these articles. :p

That article from 2018 says "Complete and ready for review".

This article from March says "In progress":

So I guess it didn't pass his review? I don't know. Who knows. He's probably too busy working on the 23 sequels to Avatar.

I recent bought a product that came packaged with a DVD. It just sat on my counter...like an inanimate object, until I threw it away.

It's so annoying when movies come with a Blu-Ray and a DVD. Give me just the BR and let me pay less. It's not the early 2000's anymore!
