I'd always had 16gb phones up until a few weeks back when I upgraded to the 6s.

I had the 5 for three years and still had 7gb space.

I thought with apps getting bigger and pics and vids getting bigger that this time around I best go for 64gb.

I've only used 6gb space. I've actually put some music on though which I never did with the 5 and I know I've only done it because I can, not because I want/need to (I have an iPod which has all my music on). And I keep all my films on my iPad.

Time will tell if I made the right choice as I plan to keep the phone for 2-3 years (depending on if Apple update the 4" phone). But at this point I'm thinking I should have saved myself the £80 and gone for 16gb.

Still it's spent now and I'm enjoying the phone so I don't really mind if I'm honest. I do like to keep pictures on my phone though and am happy I can leave it at full res and not worry about running out of space.

I could never do with 16GB. I download spotify playlists and add tv-shows/movies to watch on my commute to work. I fill up 30-40 GB in a heartbeat.

I have a 16g Iphone and am doing fine. I have added about 20 apps to it and about 220 favorite songs as well as 250 photos. I don't play any games on it. I will try to get at least 32g with my next phone but with my type of usage, this one is working fine.

I had a 32 GB 4S and decided that I wasn't using the capacity enough to justify the larger capacity, so I got a 16 GB 5S, big mistake. Corrected that with a 64 GB 6S+. If you have anything beyond a small music library or don't use your phone for picture and video often, 16 GB is becoming increasingly difficult to use, at least for me.

Apps are getting bigger and consuming much more space than they used to consume. I thought iOS 9 "App thinning" was supposed to mitigate the problem but all I see is my Apps getting fatter and fatter with each update.

I was going to laugh maniacally and say "who uses a 16GB iPhone anymore?!" But then I checked my 5S and thought "oh... I do.." :(

Funny… My old 3G had 8gb. I downloaded all kinds of apps from App Store (maybe at some point I had more than 120 apps). I stored many many pictures on the phone. And I even put decent amount of music on it as well. Never ran out of space. I never even had the thought of space running out. lol

My 5s is 16GB and I do struggle to have some free space, but I think it's mostly because I hoard photos around that I rarely look at. I'm sure if I wasn't so lazy I could definitely get by with 16GB.

I do plan on buying a 16GB 6s through Boost Mobile because of their crazy good offer of selling it for $449, about $300 less than if I bought the 64GB version elsewhere. So, that makes up for it too :D

Honestly if 16gb works for you...great, however shame on Apple.

4K recording, iMovie, Pages, GarageBand, Numbers, Live Photos, HDR, etc on a 16gb device? Obviously I'm not daft enough to not see what Apple is doing. They do crap like this across their product lines (4K iMac with iMovie and a 5200rpm HDD), to get you to upgrade.

I find this to be a shady business practice and ends up taking advantage of people that don't know any better. The specs the base models get are so low that it forces your hand to upgrade, assuming you know better. This way Apple products don't look more expensive then the competition.

For example, if you use FCPX on a Mac you generally know the specs you need to use that software so you buy a Mac accordingly. However if you buy an iPhone with iMovie and GarageBand on it you don't expect run out of space with a couple of projects.

Now to play devils advocate with myself on price. iOS and OS X includes some pretty good software right out of the box. For my needs iMovie, GarageBand, pages, and numbers are great and otherwise free. Soooo...yeah...

My secondary phone is an iPhone 5 with 16gb. I just have music and about 30 apps. Works okay for me but having an iPhone 6 64gb is nice since I can pretty much download anything I want worry free.

Yep, I still get by on 16 gigs both on iPhone and iPad. Most of what would take up a lot of space is in my iTunes library, and I probably never need more than 12 gigs on any single outing.

That said, when I have owned a 32- or 64-gig device, I've found I've used some of that space purely because of the luxury of not having to think about the aforementioned, but have never found myself in danger of an "almost full" warning with 64 gigs available. The 32-gig iPad Pro seems like it'll be fine given the minority of the small mental burden it takes to do that occasional check-in with iTunes.

I gave up on 16GB a long time ago. Went 128GB the day Apple offered it and haven't looked back. I like having everything readily available on my iPhones and can easily afford the extra $100 that it takes to do so.

Still having 8-9GB free space on my 4s, im guessing as long as you dont carry huge music-picrute-video libraries and 100s of useless apps with you, its possible to manage with 16GB.

They should increase the storage space on the base model, coz the iOS, apps pictures and videos files getting bigger and bigger...

You're fine with it because you've always had it. If Apple didn't limit you to a pathetic 16GB, once you get used to 32 or 64GB you could never go back.

I think for the 6s 16 gb is just fine. But for the 6s plus it is a joke.

Do I think 16GB is low though? Absolutely, it just works for me. I really think Apple could consider a 32GB entry model, that would allow me to put a little bit more music on my phone, but I never sweat it.

Then the majority of users would purchase the entry level phones.

Apple would then sell the majority of their iPhones for £619 and not £699 at a loss of £80 per unit ($100).

No, I sold it to my sister, the iPhone 4, and she loves it. It's more than enough for her for now. She has 4gb free space on it at the moment.

16GB works fine for me. I use the phone for calls, texts, e-mail and to occasionally check something on the web. I do take photos but don't store many. Everything else I use my iPad for.

My husband has a 6s in 16gb and it's perfect for him. He only uses his phone for calls, texts, email & light browsing. He doesn't store music on his phone and doesn't play games so he only has a handful of apps.

I keep my entire music library on my phone and also am constantly downloading audiobooks & podcasts, take a lot of pictures and videos, and have lots of games/apps. I was always running out of room on my 32gb 5s so when I upgraded I went with 64 and I think that's perfect for me.

I think for people who use their iPhones primarily as phones, 16gb is fine. If you're using your phone as a phone and an MP3 player and a camera and a gaming system, 16gb isn't going to get you far.

I'm living with a 16GB just fine. Ever since 9.1 came out I did a clean install (to remove my jailbreak), and I've been sitting with about 4.0GB free (give or take some), and everything is just fine.

I currently have 7 GB free out of my 16. For me, the iPhone is primarily a personal organizer and communications tool, with the added benefit of serving as a camera and an audio player. I don't store video on it, and while I use it for photos, I've never come close to filling it up.

No. Both my wife and I have 64GB version of the iPhone 6S because we take quite a lot of photos and videos of our kids.
