You know who you are! Personally I've never taken mine but I was still very curious. I always picture the person using theirs is actually just playing solitaire or minesweeper or something. :p

lol,

i have actually designed a module we were using for a robotic packing system for a local fish packing plant at a starbucks once..took 8 hours and a load of coffee..haha

I thought it was where people went to chat on dating sites so their wives wouldn't find out.

i watch hardcore bestiality porn when im at starbucks..
im assuming other people "study" (but are really just surfing the web and facebooking)

Which is what "studying" is with a computer whether someone is at starbucks or not. One of the biggest hoaxes of the last ten or fifteen years is that students need a computer for anything other than chatting and posting photos.

Bringing a computer to a coffee shop is for people who need something to distract from their ugly. Like big glasses or flashy automobiles.

i bring it while my girlfriend works on her summer school work and I play left 4 dead 2 and counter-strike source on it lol.

I think guys go down there to surf the web and hit on girls...not realizing they look like a total deuchbag...and besides, the girls are way more interested in your iphone 4.

I'm browsing the web and catching up things; their internet is usually pretty fast.

I also love Starbucks coffee, so it works out.

I don't believe I have seen anyone playing that at SB :)

I used to go when I worked on my thesis, did work remotely (and didn't feel like just working from home), or working on Java projects. Typically MacRumors was always open at the same time. :p

lulz @ deuchbag

I probably should have used something more PC....like...."Not realizing they look like a complete Mel Gibson."

No.

I don't understand why people would hang out there. Last place I would want to be...

I don't usually go to starbucks but I like to go to coffee shops/cafes/bookstores/ whatever to get homework and the like done because I have too many distractions at home. Also, I live in a small college town so I am likely to run into people I know for a quick chat. It's nice to be in a room full of other people who are getting work done and also be able to be social here and there so you aren't depressed by being completely secluded and killing yourself over work/homework.

I can't study at home.. I never get anything done.. for some reason I can focus better when I'm at a coffee shop..

I meet for groups projects where we wrote software, there and at other coffee shops when the school library was closed/after hours. I have meet for groups projects outside of my major there as well. I, in fact, studied there just a few weeks ago for a mid term when my A/C had broke the night before and the school library was not opening until 7:30AM.
