iPhone 13 Pro Max do you think 1tb is worth it?

ill get at least 512gb but with the new video tech and all, is 1tb worth it yall think ? when i had the 7 plus at 256gb for 4 years, it got full at least one time. ill probably have this phone for at least a few years.

Probably not unless you actually are planning on shooting feature-length film clips on your phone, or you absolutely must have every photo and video you take with you at all times, or don't want to do any file management for the whole lifespan of the phone. Otherwise 512 should be plenty.

Lightning Port kills large storage for me.

I wanted to play with PreRes4k projects but the lightning port killed that dream. Moving 400GB of video over Airdrop/Lightning renders ProRes4k a novelty feature that will make more sense next gen with USB-C.

For me it is. In better times I would travel home to see my family and friends a few times a year, and having a wide selection of videos to watch for those long trips and the weeks I’m there with no access to streaming is important to me.

I have a 740gb photo/video library and I want it all on my phone.

I went from 7+ 256 -> XS 512 (storage waste because iCloud wouldn't download most of the photos/videos)

For me personally, it's not. I have the 256GB 12 Pro that has about 100 GB of space available. So, I went with the 256GB 13 Pro.

Are you shooting feature length movies on your phone? I imagine anyone doing that needs all the storage they can get.

Literally everyone else does not need it. I have about 1 TB of data stored in iCloud, which is accessible from iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc. All of that data originates from the devices. iCloud optimizes local storage based on how you use your device. My Mac has 652 GB (out of 1 TB) used, my iPhone only 120 GB (out of 256 GB). They both see and sync with the same data.

So while my iPhone technically already has access to 1 TB of data in the cloud, it will never have that much stored locally, or anywhere near it. The best thing to do is look at the current used storage on your phone. Then purge anything you don't need. If what is left is 3/4 or less of your current storage capacity, get the same capacity.

As an AAPL shareholder, yes 1TB is honestly really worth it.
It's a shame there is no 2TB version yet.
