OLED on the iPad still seems some far fetched thing ! Nobody is talking about it, not even the rumour mill I guess it is way too long before Apple can make it possible albeit it is worth considering when other players like Samsung has been offering an OLED display in their Tabs what is holding back Apple ?? Food for thought !!
The iPad lineup seems so strange to me lately - it's very cluttered. iPad Mini, iPad, iPad Pro 2 sizes, then maybe an iPad Pro X? It kind of gets confusing.
Seems like you got it. You want an iPad, you decide if you want Pro features or the budget model, then choose a size. The X redesign will be the Pro.
What are the yields like for tablet-sized OLED at 400+ PPI (below that and the PenTile Matrix arrangement can be quite noticeable)? And can it do 120Hz? Apple sells something like 40+ million iPads a year.
Uh ?? 400 PPI ? Who offers 400 PPI on a tablet ?? If Samsung can offer OLED why not Apple ? YES may be 120 HZ could be a challenge on OLED, but is that something that a company like Apple (A trend setter company, an iconic company) cannot accomplish ?
No one but 264 PPI paired with PenTile matrix arrangement is ugly.
Just because the technology isn't there yet doesn't mean Apple is not working on it. I expect we'll see OLED on the iPad once quality, yield and cost are to their satisfaction.
