Straight forward. Your ususal "do you think Apple will..." thread.

Do you think Apple will release a 32GB iPhone / 64GB iPod touch and firmware 2.3 in February?

Well, I certainly do. It's when the capacity was doubled last and new firmware would go great with a new model capacity.

Yes.

But only because I upgraded to a 3G today after seeing nothing new was going to be released. :D

I dont really care anymore, i'm kind of dissapointed that they didnt release it today. I purchased a 16gb because i lost my iPhone and i had to pay the full price. anyhow i have until friday to return it and it would have been nice to exchange it. but I guess not.

i kind of hope they come out with upgraded capacity and firmware. cause then i'd either get an iPhone ( in about 2 years) or a new Touch (less than 1 year). awyee.

I would say June is the best day to do the update that because I'm getting an iPhone this week :D. That's my opinion anyways.

So, since you're getting an iPhone in a week how would June make a difference from February or effect you?
In fact, the firmware upgrade would better it.

I can't wait to get an iPhone and if the capacity update comes right after I bought it, I would be pissed . Yes, I wouldn't care if there was a firmware upgrade because it wouldn't affect my iPhone hardware.

I highly doubt it.
Reason is because if they do as previous years, then we will see a new iPhone this summer.

Wait a minute, what if we don't see a new 3G iPhone this summer, but instead its the iPhone Nano.

Maybe thats why we didn't see hardly any new hardware this MacWorld. They are waiting until the summer...

People hate the mention of it, then again I still have that hope it would come out for people who hate the iPhone size.

Uhh... What?!
In previous years the capacity was upped to 32GB but then later that summer the iPhone 3G came out. OWND.

Eww... iPhone nano...

I'm sure we'll see a capacity bump, but not next month. This summer, yes.

The Nano can still be reality this summer, as much as people dislike the idea of it.

And I know there was a capacity bump last time! I just don't think we'll see one next month.

I'm starting to feel like a jerk, BUT ...

The Nano is not a possibility for this summer.

Let's think critically about this kind of stuff. Question it. Mull it over. Be critical of rumors, and not just accept them at face value. At the end of the day, does this non-mobile OS X phone idea really make sense?

Well, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter to me one way or another because I'm going to stick with my 3G iPhone regardless if the Nano gets released or not.

Do you think we'll see a new 3G iPhone this summer then?

That would be another way for Apple to disappoint us if they pull some crap like that.

Please no pink iPhone! :(

Now that 32 GB chips are readily available it definitely has to be coming soon, but the question is when....
And that is the 64 dollar question.

Since the iPhone and touch use the same memory chip, I would think that their update would be around the same time.

iPods usually get updated in late summer.

The iPhone was introduced in the summer.

So maybe summer is the target date.

Personally, I hope that it is sooner than that.

Funny you say that ...

I was thinking possibly a product(Red) phone (red for the guys), and a pink phone for the ladies (possibly with ties to the breast cancer research fund).

Are you guys listening to what I'm saying?
I would normally think that the summer would be an appropriate time to update the iPod touch and iPhone, but if it's just capacity and firmware then the last known date of a capacity bump would be most likely.

If it's selling well .... why bother?

The xbox 360 is now cheaper than the Wii, but do you see Nintendo tripping over themselves to offer more or cut prices? No, because the Wii is selling fine as is.

Apple's got lots of momentum right now, I think they're going to take a little time on this one.
