Do you think Apple will release a 32GB iPhone / 64GB iPod touch and 2.3 in February?

And that is the 64 dollar question.

Since the iPhone and touch use the same memory chip, I would think that their update would be around the same time.

iPods usually get updated in late summer.

The iPhone was introduced in the summer.

So maybe summer is the target date.

Personally, I hope that it is sooner than that.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see. The whole thing holding back the 32 GB iPhone was the fact that it only has one slot, as opposed to the Touch's two, hence why it could only support 16 GB. Now that limit is no longer imposed, so there should be no reason to see these respective upgrades soon.

I would ASSUME that by you all mentioning summer that you are referring to WWDC, correct?

Sorry somewhat new to the Mac Community so I havn't followed the event patterns for very long.

If so, when do you think we will get a WWDC date announcement?

If it's selling well .... why bother?

The xbox 360 is now cheaper than the Wii, but do you see Nintendo tripping over themselves to offer more or cut prices? No, because the Wii is selling fine as is.

Apple's got lots of momentum right now, I think they're going to take a little time on this one.

Well Nintendo probably doesn't care because the cheap Xbox 360 doesn't have much capacity at all, 256MB I believe.

Good point, good point.

Apple hasn't quite got the kick in the ass from any other devices on the market, yet! I can see where this makes sense and hopefully we will see some very stiff competition this year to give apple a little nudge. :D

Actually, the Blackberry Storm has 9GB for the $200 model.

Really? Is that specific to the States or something?

From Bell.ca:
Dimensions: 112.5 x 62.2 x 13.95 mm
Weight: 155g or 5.46oz
Runs on the High Speed Mobile Network from Bell
High resolution 480 x 360 pixel colour display
128 MB Flash memory, 1 GB eMMC
Expandable memory: MicroSD

Could be since I'm in the US.
Trust me, I'm not BSing you, it's what I was told by the guy at the Verizon booth in the mall.
He said it has 3GB internal and comes with a 6GB micro SD; maybe visa versa, I don't remember exactly.

I wouldn't compare Wii to Xbox 360, the Xbox 360 is more for hardcore gamers with Mature and Teen rated titles more than ever. Wii is just comprised mostly for everyone like casual gamers. If you give me a choice between the two, I would have chosen the 360. The first Xbox 360 that came out had 20 GB of space, now the current one has 60 GB of HDD. The Pro has 120 GB of space. How do I know this? I own one ;) and I love it more than my Wii.

Blackberry Storm:
"Memory: The device features 1GB of onboard memory and an expandable memory slot support for a microSD card of up to an additional 16GB."

"Camera: The device features a built-in 3.2 megapixel camera located on back which features flash and autofocus."

I have a good feeling Apple would definitely put a 5 MP camera with video recording and flash on the next iPhone.

Well surely the 60GB and 120GB models are better. Also because I heard the 120GB has some stuff the 60GB and Arcade edition don't.
But if I had to choose between a Wii and the XBOX 360 Arcade Edition (256MB) I would choose a Wii.

Depends from person to person, because they all like to play different types of games. But since the world isn't made up of hardcore gamers, I would give the award to the Wii. Still, I wouldn't compare the two in terms of capacity, Xbox 360 Arcarde 20 GB of memory for the Xbox Upgrade Program and Wii : 512 MB of memory.

I think if the 32gb iphone was to be released next month it would be great, but realistically I don't see it happening. I'm not basing that on anything other than my opinion, but I just don't see it happening. I hope I am wrong considering I am looking to get my first iphone with 32gb, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

As for the firmware, I don't think that will be released either. I remember when 2.1 and 2.2 came out the news about the betas came out about a month or some beforehand. So far I haven't seen anything about a 2.3 update, so I doubt this too.

No, you're right man - I looked into it.

It has 1gb built-in, and it seems carriers (or RIM possibly) provide 8gb SD cards.

No, I'm thinking Summer. Unfortunately, I'm also thinking the same about the push notification server :(

DAMN. It just comes with the 8GB memory card, not bad.
Well I don't expect Apple to put in a micro SD card slot, it's not the Apple way.

The Storm is a poorly designed device anyways. Most importantly, no Wi-Fi.

Yeah, even though Verizon 3G is better than AT&T 3G, IMO.
I played with the Storm for awhile and really like it's speaker and camera but the fact that you actually push the screen down is really tacky and seems easier to break.

Pardon me for asking if this is the wrong place... I was hoping for a capacity update yesterday and when it didn't come I began investigating what the upgrade options are for iPhone users...

In short, will I be able to update from a 16GB iPhone to a 32GB iPhone after 30 days?

I'm not sure, something you may want to talk to Apple about.
