Not sure if this is in the right forum, as it applies to all macs. Here goes:
Apple has priced RAM at around $200 for every extra 8GB for several years. RAM tech advances are moving forward and it is clocked at a higher speed than it has ever been. However, when Apple had a 4GB upgrade option (for the air most recently, I think), it only cost $100. I think RAM production costs for larger capacities have decreased enough that it is reasonable for there to be a decrease in the upgrade price. (Maybe a $150 or $100 upgrade instead?) Do you think this will happen soon?
I do not see Apple bumping the base RAM configuration very soon for any of its current macs, but I could be wrong.
Upgrade prices for SSD capacity have come down some, but are still very high for 13 inch mac notebooks. This makes me a little hopeful.
