Ok so I love my iPhone 8 on iOS 11.1.2

But honestly I'm craving something new

Should I do the X?

I would need 256GB AT&T. Currently have the 256GB on AT&T for my 8.

I will never understand the concept of asking a bunch of total strangers whether or not to spend $1250 on a new cell phone. We don't know you, we don't know your financial status, or anything else about you. How could we possibly give you accurate advice?

Well I would need a case(s) and AppleCare+ as well. And then there's tax!

As much as I like my x. I have to say I would probably wait til next version comes out. Jailbreak your 8 in a few days and enjoy til x2 comes out.

God no, we’re 7 months away from the next generation. There’s not really enough, I’d say, to warrant jumping from an 8 to an X at this point.

I’d say stick it out until the next ones come along, there’s bound to be more reason to update then. (And yes, I’m an X user.)

No wait. The 8 is very much similar to the X in the internals so beyond the Face ID and no bezels it is performance wise similar.

Don’t know your financial position, but just from my point of view, I’d say no. X will feel different for a few days as you adjust to gestures and the screen, but once you get used to it, it’ll be the same iOS you’ve been using. You’ll lose quite a money selling the 8 (if you do sell it), and be spending hundreds of dollars to get the X, that has the same specs and mostly the same camera as the 8. Not to mention, the next generation is probably ~7 months away. Maybe that seems long to you, but I would wait for the next generation st this point.

No I don't think it's worth the upgrade. I have the X and after the "newness" feeling wore off I realized my 7 plus was more than enough. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy my X but was it necessary? Absolutely not.

Yes. You should do the X. It's a completely new phone. The 8 is the last of its kind, a relic whose lineage goes back to the iPhone 3GS. You don't want to be seen with that for the next 10 months until the refresh is launched.

If you go to AT&T chat and ask to be connected with a Loyalty representative and don't stop until you do, you should be offered an iPhone X 256GB for $699. There's a great thread on this, it's how I got 2 iPhone X's for my two very deserving sons at Christmas.

I don’t understand this at all. You already purchased the iPhone X previously and said it was the “Best iPhone ever”. Now you’re saying you’re ‘craving something new’? You already owned the iPhone X, why are you asking others for advice for something you already owned? According to this previous thread you started.

Reference this post below:

The iPhone X is bananas. It’s the best phone EVER made. Can’t even really call it a phone. It’s on a whole new level, in a category of its own.

No. I don't get why someone would spend $ on an 8 and then more on a X

Just stick with your 8 and upgrade this fall or next fall

If you're able to return your 8 it's a different story but if you're past that time then just stick to it.

You’ve already owned the iPhone X and returned it because you got bored with it so you already know what you’re going to get.

I think you need to realise that smartphones in general aren’t all that exciting and differ very little these days. For what you are looking for you will never have satisfaction. The iPhone X is very similar to the 8 albeit a few different features. The experience is going to be just as plain as you are getting now. Stop wasting your money and buy a gadget that actually does offer something appealing and different.

Wait. I bought the X, but feel I should have just gone with the 8. The screen is nice, but face ID is much slower than Touch ID, animojis are fun for about 5 minutes, and that’s about it for real points of difference.

Is the X the better phone? Some people think that it is. Others disagree.

Fixed that for you.

I had an X. I traded it up to an 8. There are all kinds of things that annoyed me about the X. There's nothing that annoys me about the 8.

Funny you should say that. I would never buy the X. It reminds me of the very first iPhone. Rounded corners, bezel, etc.

Heck you can go one step further and get this:

I agree. I genuinely don't like the look of it. Especially if you compare it with, say, the Samsung Galaxy 8. The iPhone X looked dated to me after about a month of owning it.

And what's this narrow bezels obsession all about that people seem to have?

Gotta have something new. When the X first came out I read a bunch of iPhone connoisseurs bashing all the iPhones of past. All of a sudden the bezels were ancient and hideous when just last year they said the 6 and 7 were the most advanced phones ever. Sounded so cliquish it was almost comical. I feel it comes down to personal preference. I like the bezeless look, but I don't feel the X has captured the look for me. If they came out with something like this, I would be all over it:
