I don’t want to upgrade because I’m afraid iOS 14 will make it slow.

In the past there used to be concerns about security, but I’m guessing now it might be OK.

is anyone else doing the same?

It didn’t make my 11PM go slow but my standby drain started with IOS14. My battery was great until then

Ok yeah this would not be good imo.

I wouldn’t want less battery life.

I guess then maybe I should stay on iOS 13.5...

Running iOS 14 happily on my 11 Pro Max, I would hate to be still on iOS 13 when iOS 14 offers so many more features. I feel as though iOS 13 and older iOS versions really limited these phones, iOS finally has these iPhones feeling like Swiss Army Knives. :D

Whats the point of owning a top tier iPhone if you are going to live life scared of a little update? LOL!

Our phones are aging regardless of what we do, I feel as though iOS 14 has taken my 11 Pro Max to what I have always wanted iPhones to be since coming from Android.

I like the features of ios 14 but am afraid the little update will make my iPhone slow or the battery life will not be as good.

So then you get the features, which is good, but then what if your iphone is slow and has battery issues? That would be bad...

I feel ios 14.3 finally behaves almost as good as ios 13.7. There is even less standby drain than in ios 13 (1 or even 0% of battery consumption) and it is almost as snappy. Having said that, i have had some connectivity problems in data mode after updating, but im not sure if it is just me / my carrier.

iOS 14 seems to have made my 11 Pro Max a little smoother, and battery life has not changed at all despite me using widgets, I still cannot kill this thing in a day.

14.3 has definitely been incredibly frugal, the other night I went to bed and realized my 11 Pro Max was still at 50%, I usually go to bed with it at anywhere between 35-45%. I do not think I have ever managed to kill this phone, lol, it would require me to stay up more than 24 hours to do that.

This phones hardware (battery and chipset) have given it enough headroom to last a lot longer even as the battery degrades (which is inevitable).

You should be exited about the features!! Im A beta tester so maybe I just like getting new features and updates more than other people . Goodluck!

There are some decent vulnerabilities with 13.5. KISMET (iMessage) being one of them. I'd upgrade just to stay current with security patches. There are bad guys everywhere nowadays!

iPhone 11 Pro will be fast and smooth for many more iOS releases. In fact, depending on the optimization, it may feel even faster after an upgrade.

There’s no real reason to avoid iOS 14. Or 15. Or 16. Unless there are some nasty bugs and something goes wrong.

The reason why I wasn't is because of fear it will become slow or battery life will become worse
You shouldn't be concerned with any of those things with the flagship phone from just last year. The phone will remain solid through many more updates to come.

Apple has been great in making latest iOS compatibility with older devices that supports it in these past few years.
All of my Apple devices has been running great with their latest OS version. MacBook Pro 2009, iPhone 6, Original Apple Watch (latest gen devices shouldn’t need to be mentioned).

Except for the iPad 3. It was an underpowered device that has been updated with iPad 4 in 6 months after its release date.

So, upgrade away. Should be fine.

I feel like you can update only within the series the phones shipped with (so came with 13, do all the 13 updates).

I’ve always noticed as soon as you go to next series (ie 14) battery is worse, but also they make your camera not as good.

take it for what it’s worth, I looked at old pictures take with my X and they looked amazing (ios 11 I believe?) Fast forward to pics taken with the X on 13-14 and they just don’t like that nice.

so I will keep the 12 pro on the 14 series updates only.

that being said 14.3 on 12 pro has terrible battery life. Only updated for the ProRAW capabilities.
