I've just tried to buy a MacBook Pro in the hopes that it wouldn't let me.

Checked out and everything (though didn't order). Nothing on the site even hinted that I couldn't. Next day delivery still available, etc.

I feel your pain I was expecting at least a spec bump today.. It has been 391 days since the last update.. I don't recall it ever taking so long between refresh cycles. Even the last update was 'minor' compared to the hardware available. I still have a small spark of hope left for something amazing to happen within the next 24 hours

Lol..... Define plenty..... MacRumors Forums probably accounts for the 0.02% of the population that buy laptops be it windows or Mac and of that sub section maybe only 2% tops?

Apple is incurring a huge slide in sales:

Mac notebook sales dropped 40-percent quarter-over-quarter, but largely due to expected seasonality following the holiday shopping season.

That was a mostly enjoyable keynote, I must say. Not perfect as anyone could see, but I got to hand it to Federighi especially. Some slick recoveries there

Looking forward to new products to go with the new software later this year.
