That was a mostly enjoyable keynote, I must say. Not perfect as anyone could see, but I got to hand it to Federighi especially. Some slick recoveries there ;)

Looking forward to new products to go with the new software later this year.
I didn't pay attention to the iOS stuff, but overall, I'd say it was a very incremental update that didn't off much buzz, or excitement

Well, I guess, Apple decided to dedicate WWDC to software only, and on one hand that makes sense, but on the other, their hardware is seriously long in the tooth.

To me October is the earliest juncture for new MBP release

Agree unless your an IOS user pretty much a nonevent. Just hoping that Apple has done there home work on MacOS, as 10.11 was less than stellar for many, would be much better if engineers controlled the OS releases not sales & marketing.

Yeah, at this stage, and hopefully we see a major revision and not just a mundane chipset refresh.

I fear too little, too late, and another buggy release of the desktop OS. If the current leaks of the upcoming rMBP pan out, I simply don't see how the notebooks will enhance my productivity, if anything for the first 2-3 years potentially hinder due the all or nothing implementation of USB C.

Sure they are going to look nice and be lighter, beyond that I really don't know. What I do know, as I absolutely rely on my notebooks as a critical component of my work/business - reliability, usability, interoperability, security and tools that I can use to give me an edge are what count for me. Thin & light above all, social media & emoji`s not so much.

On the macOS side, it would've been huge if Apple had announced support for OpenGL compute shaders for instance, but I guess even if that's coming with Sierra it's not really keynote-worthy. The coming days will be enlightening.

Would have been nice to get something for back to school. Delayed a HS graduation laptop on the long shot something would be announced today.

Not sure what we are going to do now....

Get away from Apple product at the moment and run.... Or buy older model

I'm leaning that way. I had assumed I'd drop money on an Apple laptop this summer, but there just isn't anything in the current lineup worth buying.

I can get her a Dell XPS with far superior specs and a free TV.
