Is it worth turning off my HomePod after each listening session?
I only use my HomePod for a few hours a week so is it worth turning it off each time to make it last longer or does it go into an automatic standby when not being used?
I know smart speakers are not designed to be turned off but these appear to have reliability issues and Apple don’t have a successor in the market.

How do you turn of the HomePod?

No.

What's more, if you are concerned about your HomePods failing I think the risk is higher with constant power cycling than with leaving them plugged in when not in use.

No defeats the purpose of them. I don’t only use them as speakers for music or for my Apple TV’s. I use them to set reminders, timers, find out the weather, add events to my calendar, send messages. If it’s switched off I can’t do that on the fly.
