Still using S5 - probably as long as it is supported and/or battery life improves

I'm on the first Apple Watch I brought. It was a used Series 3 I brought about 2 years ago. I'll continue using it until it's broken, or if there's a feature I really need in a new watch (blood sugar monitoring?)

This thread seems to echo my experiences in the circles I mix in where most people don’t upgrade their Apple Watches every year. In fact I’d say 3-4 years seems to be the average with many keeping them until they break.

I personally can’t see a great deal of difference between the Series 5 on my wrist and the current series 8 model out now. There’s no way I’d be losing the best part of £200 every year to have owned the 6,7 and 8 when it’s essentially the same watch with some extremely minor differences that most of which I wouldn’t be using anyway.

Yep, every year I refresh the website like a madman at launch. Same goes for the iPhones. Would love to see an iUp program for the AW. I like keeping it fresh and the excitement of unboxing new tech every year. If there’s no upgraded Ultra this year, the thought of going another year with the same device on my wrist is depressing.
I would love that, especially since the IUP program gives you the flexibility to just pay for two years and end up owning the device if the next year's upgrade doesn't float your boat.

I used to, but now I don’t.

S0 stainless
S2 stainless
S3 Black Stainless
S4 Aluminium
S5 Gold Stainless
S7 Hermes.

Would have probably kept the S4 until the S7 if it was stainless, but really didn’t get in with it (nothing wrong with it but personally didn’t like it)

The S2 my Dad’s still wife has, the S5 the wife has now. 99% not upgrading to a S9, maybe a S10 next.
