I have been going without a screen protector on my iPad 3 for 10 months now.
I really regret it. The screen has several deep scratches in it and thousands of thin ones, despite having had a Smart Cover from day one.

I think screen protectors help to some extent in protecting the screen from scratches and possible breakage. Also saw less fingerprint smudges on my iPhone screen with the protector on it. Got a case last year which also came with a screen protector, but didn't like it that much. It started to peel off from the edges within no time, then someone told me about this rather unknown brand, HAGZ Screen on Amazon. Got one and have been using it since late last year without any issues yet.

Stop promoting your product. You only have four posts on this account and every single one is about the HAGZ screen protector. You've been going around resurrecting old threads and continually posting about it.

I use a screen protector on my GS3. If rather not, but that device is always in my pockets and gets exposed to much more potential damage. I never used one on my iPod touch, had it for almost three years. Scratching was minimal (just some of those barely noticeable hairline ones). I most likely will never put one on my iPad. But never say never. I have a 4yr old and a 9 month old. If they start wanting to use it more I may rethink the screen protector thing.

I've got one on my iPad mini and Samsung galaxy note.

I don't have one on my iPod touch or galaxy tab.

I've used an SPG/Spigen Ultra-Fine anti-fingerprint screen protector on all my iPhones & iPads the last few years, and I believe they're far & away the best. They're on the pricey side, but go on easy, fit perfectly & look invisible. I'll come back for more...

I don't use one on my iPad. First, I have a smart cover that gets the job done. Second, I don't put my iPad in as risky situations as I put my phone (which has a screen protector).

Thought I didnt need one!
THEN THE DARN SCREEN got this weird
green distortion in it. anyone know what thats
about?

I use one on our iPads and iPods. They've all been Zagg's (HD and regular) until recently when I bought the ipad screen protector Walmart sells for $17. It's texture is completely flat, smoother than Zagg, and doesn't smudge. It is a dry install, and mine doesn't have a single speck or bubble. They also include a back cover with a faux carbon finish in black or grey, but I didn't install that. It's stiffer than a Zagg, so the edges don't show any sign of even thinking about peeling up...at all. It's dimensions leave about 1.5mm around the edges, so that can only further help any issues with peeling. I ordered a Zagg HD for the second ipad 4 we bought, and it's still in its packaging.

Do you use a screen protector?

Try these:
Tech Armor Apple New iPad 4, 3 & 2 HD Clear Screen Protector with Lifetime Replacement Warranty [2-Pack] - Retail Packaging
http://amzn.com/B008CC1AM0

You get lifetime replacements. I use these. I have 4 extra packages of 3 :)

I did, but stopped after a while and I'm loving the feel of the naked screen. All I have for protection is a smart cover for the screen and a Caudabe Mini Shell for the back. iPad is still in great condition.

I use the Zagg HD screen protector. Contradictory to what people have posted here, the HD version is very good even with a stylus. I had the Original but it was tacky and gross.
I have a protection plan with Future Shop which features an unlimited number of replacement Zagg Original screen protectors but they agreed that I could pay the difference between the Original and HD with each replacement, which is like 5.49$. I haven't had to replace it yet, so take into account that they last along time.

I've found that I really don't need a screen protector on my iPad. The manner in which I use it just doesn't create a situation where I am likely to damage my iPad. i'm not constantly pulling it out of my pocket or using it in public places etc.

However you might need one if you're one of those tourists that uses your iPad to take pictures when out and about (I always thought this looks ridiculous).
