I use a clear plastic cover on the back because my iPad goes to my office with me and gets moved around on my desk - picking up lots of staples and paperclips thanks to the magnetic strip on the cover.

Judging from the grunginess of the back cover, am glad it's there.

I use a smart cover and a neoprene sleeve. Never had a back on my iPad and it is in absolutely pristine condition.

Just a Smart Cover and a sleeve/pouch when not in use. The feel of the device and thinness itself is great, hard to give up

+1, Smart Cover, no pouch. Same with the iPhone, always naked...I like the look and thinness and lightness. Yeah, they get beat up, but oh well

Exactly! I babied by iPad 3 with Otterbox and multiple cases, yet it still gets the same measly trade in value as a cosmetically damaged one. Doing it different this gen!

If you'd like to preserve its cosmetic value for future resell, use a case.
On my iPad air I'm using Apple's Smart Case: expensive as hell, but very durable.

I bought one of those fake Chinese smart covers on eBay for 10€. Ironically it fits better than the real one for 70€

+1 for smart cover only: love the form factor and the style so don't want to cover it up. If it gets scratched up, like my naked iPhone does, it just means it's more mine.

Do you use anything to cover the back of your iPad Air 2?

I use one of those $5 TPU cases on eBay. I found a case with cover non practical, as I pick up (to use) and put down the iPad a lot, like 50 times a day. A back-only case with a screen protector works so much better. I use a sleeve when tossing the iPad in my backpack or suitcase.

I'll be using a skin. Trying Slickwraps this time. Ordered a "leather" and carbon fiber skin. Also trying iCarbons again...carbon fiber there, too. I'll send back what I don't use.

I carry my iPad in an Incase neoprene sleeve and use the Smart Cover for normal use. I also have a Moko slim-fit folio case that I use when I want to be a bit more discreet with iPad usage or when I travel (more protection).

I used a skin for a year and a half on my iPad 3, then took it off and used it for a year without anything. Looked perfect. My Air 2 is naked.

Using the Apple Leather Smart Case. I would say overpriced but its actually quite nice.

You got a point there...

I use a smart case. My ocd would kick in if a saw the smallest of scratches on the back.

Smart cover on the front and Skinomi film on the back. Perfect combination! looks very sleek and professional.

I'm with you. I hate the covers unless I'm traveling. I like a nice form fitting TPU case. I like the rounded corners.
