I Use the 2 finger tap for right clicking, a lot easier!

Ditto.

I also have 3 finger tap set as the equivalent of a middle button mouse click - primarily use it in Firefox where it's my shortcut for opening a link in a new tab and also for closing tabs.

I did on my old MBP, but on my new one I haven't enabled it yet, even though I've had it for almost 5 months.

This is one thing that Lion has sort of made a little bit less enjoyable for me, two finger tap to right click used to work instantly on Snow Leopard, but because of the way Lion process gestures, you have to physically click now to get the same response speed, otherwise there's a short delay in your right click happening.

It's a little bit of an OCD thing perhaps, but it's bloody annoying because I love everything else about Lion.

Otherwise, tap to click till I die.

I don't tap to click; still use the button on the bottom of the track pad.

When I eventually upgrade my Macbook, those newfangled trackpads will take some getting used to.

I use tap to click. i like the silentness. Since this is my first mac I am also impressed with the capability of the trackpad so I use it as much as I can

Oh dear I wish you hadn't pointed this out. All I can do is focus on this now.

:(

AHH! now I have noticed this too :(

Click. It's how Jony Ive intended you to do it :D

Seriously though my 2008 alu MacBook, at the ripe old age of 37 months, is starting to show its age and sometimes you have to press hard for it to recognise the click. It's a little annoying, and I can live with it, but that is the one thing that could potentially turn me into a tapper.

I use tap to click it is a must. Funny story I was in the Apple store today playing with iMac as I only have the MBP. With each iMac I played with the first thing I did was change the preferences to "Tap to Click" -- I cannot believe it is not the default.

Can't stand tap to click. I'm a drummer so I'm always unconsciously tapping on my trackpad. If I had tap to click enabled I'd be clicking all over the place.

For some reason I have never liked the "tap to click". I just use it for right-clicking.

I love clicking.:)

Tap to click, double tap to right click.

Love the way on a mac you can do so much with the trackpad.

I'm really surprised by the poll results.

I tried to get used to tap to click - but couldn't stop accidental clicks - so I turned it off and never thought about it again.

Now that I see that the overwhelming majority here are using tap to click, I might revisit this.

For those ex-clickers, was there any adjustment period in getting used to tap to click? If you were getting accidental clicks, did it get better over time?

In my mind, depending on what you are working on - an accidental click could be a major problem.

Perhaps I just never gave it an honest chance....

I just disabled this feature on my parents iMac. I was just on it and I was just on YouTube and all of the sudden it was like going to different videos. It was really annoying.

Tap because it's easier. I don't like the way the click pressure is inconsistent across the height of length of the trackpad. I also use BetterTouchTool make a 3 finger tap my middle click button.
