When taking pictures in side do you prefer the flash on?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A5274d Safari/7534.48.3)

Have HDR always on so flash is disabled. Use it more as a torch really.

No. I hate point and shoot and cell phone camera pictures that use the flash. It ruins the picture for me. I'd rather live with a picture with low lighting or try to find better lighting in the environment under which I can take the picture.

Any camera sensor is going to give you more detailed pictures the more light there is indoors. Then again though I just go ahead and keep it on auto but change it if the picture comes out too dark/light.

I usually take pics with the flash off, even indoors.

Why don't you add a poll to your first post?

Only in well-lit areas. It's quite useful for making faces pop.

But in dark places? No, it's very flat and doesn't make the picture look better. I'll leave it off then. (Unless it's so dark that it's the ONLY way to see anything. Then I'll put it back on, but that's rare.)

Example of using the flash to make a face better:
