I use it all the time. When I first log on I manually check through the individual forums to see what's been happening since I last visited, but once I've caught up I switch straight onto Forum Spy.

It's how I spotted this thread. ;)

Absolutely. I use Subscribed Threads and New Posts to catch up upon arrival and then move to Forum Spy.

I will respond to your unscientific poll, and note that I found the thread via Forum Spy :). It took me a little while to get used to it, but now I use it quite often. I still use the new posts link to find things that otherwise get buried with ForumSpy, but it's a good tool. Thumbs up.

Yes, sometimes

Didn't like it at first, then came round to it and loved it, but lately I've stopped using it as I now tend to dip in and out of MR forums while doing other stuff and have had the 'Are you still there' message...

'New Posts' is more helpful if you want an overview over the past 30mins or longer. Forum Spy is for living in the MR present, as it were.

I used it a lot at the start, but have moved back to New Posts now as I missed having the little arrow to show I'd replied in a thread too much. Although I sometimes use it for a bit of late night banter back and forth. As it were.

As with some of the others, I used it loads initially but more recently I seem to have reverted to the old 'New Posts' method.

I almost never used it at first, but now it's become a staple.

When coming back online, I quickly sort through my hotkeys (private forums, mod forum, recent posts, etc.), then settle into the spy.

Spy doesn't bring me up to speed, but it keeps me there.

I miss that too, I kind of got around it by setting my defaults to subscribing to the thread which I post in. It displays a little arrow next to the thread in Spy.

If Spy had the little icons for a thread like New Posts and regular viewing does it would be perfect but it does the job for now.

The thing I don't like about forum spy is that clicking on a thread takes you to the last post. More often than not, I haven't already read the thread and would prefer to start at the first post. The 'new posts' listing lets me choose whether I want to start at the first page or the last page. Me like better.
