I use it vertical because I like to read pdf textbooks or papers, the vertical position seems natural to reading these.

However, I do find that holding it horizontal is more comfortable to my hands...but then, I am like holding two iPad Air 2 side by side...

Traditionally, my preference for holding ipad is portrait. Always. Dont know why, just seemed more natural. Like a book or magazine page.

Now i've a huge Pro and pending smart keyboard, i'm altering my perceptions to view it as landscape as the norm. And why not? I mean, i view my tv and computer monitors in lanscape of course.

Landscape. But once I get a Sena Vettra case that holds the iPP in both positions I will start using both. I don't like portrait holding it in my hands.

Vertical when in bed reading news and the verge site is awesome on this position

Vertical most of the time. For me it mainly replaces paper - magazines, books, sheet music...
Can't wait to get my Pencil.

both but have smart keyboard, so that is making me use landscape much more than i would like; im sure i will get used to it but its annoying for magazines that wont display in landscape either at all (like outside magazine) or GQ, which for some inexplicable reason has removed their landscape support

vertical for browsing the internet, reading magazines and pdfs etc or taking notes. Horizontal for code editing, composing emails, using Excel or Omingraffle and reading ebooks. Even if I didn't use the smart keyboard I would still use them that way round, the same as I did with the ipad air 2

On my iPad 3 it was landscape 99% of the time. But I find myself using the Pro in portrait mode for reading web pages more and more often now. I don't like the keyboard in portrait though...

Which app are you using for code editing?

both ways.
Portrait for books, landscape for web browsing.
