I ask because it's now become one of the oldest areas of macOS, despite the various U.I/architectural changes that have occurred. It's hard to believe they're coming up to 20 years old!

I'm actually a big fan of them as they add a playful element to the OS, and like the Finder icon, are part of it's character.

But I'd be interested to know whether anyone here continues to use them even at the point of macOS 11, or if you prefer your own custom image.

I love the Memoji user login animations. I didn't expect this to happen but I now think this is the best new feature of Monterey. I love it especially when my Memoji gets disappointed that I've entered my password wrong.

I didn't even know about that! How do you activate it?

If you're on Monterey, go to the page where you pick your profile image. If you've already setup a Memoji, it's the first choice on the left.
