Do you view your Apple Watch as an item of jewellery, or rather just a gadget?

How do you view your Apple Watch?

While I ticked “gadget” in the poll, I’d say it’s more like 80% gadget and 20% jewelry.

I’ve owned only two models so far, the S2 and S4, and both are stainless steel models. I still cannot find it in me to be comfortable with an aluminum model when I dress up, while I like how the SS model looks with the Milanese band when I want or need to dress up. And it is my purely subjective opinion that the stainless steel is the most versatile when it comes to mixing different bands with it.

As per the title.

I know many of you collect and swap bands, regularly.

You also clearly take good care of your watches.

I personally don’t view my Apple Watch merely as a gadget. Maybe that’s because I bought the SS version, which looks a bit more “up market”?

How about you?

It’s more than just a gadget for me. I change the watch faces often. Used to swap between 3-4 bands but I’ve stick to the dark grey band included in my S7 Edition model.

I concur, it’s more than a gadget to me, too.

Maybe it’s because it’s SS, so it’s all shiny?

Yup it adds to the bling factor as well. Apple wouldn’t have released models in various case materials if they see the watch only as a gadget. I wish they’ll bring back the titanium and ceramic models to the non-Ultra models soon.

Which series/model do you currently have?

Are you planning on upgrading?

I have the SBTi S7 since launch day. I don’t think I’ll upgrade this fall but never say never. Are you upgrading from your SS? Yours is a Series 8?
I think there will have to be something special in September for me to upgrade.

I get my new car on Friday (currently carless) so my activity should increase.

I’m currently sedentary, but I intend to get back into my street photography, possibly gym, walking at different locations etc, so my watch will become more useful.

If it does, and the S9 presents a decent upgrade, I may get one.

Wishing you well :apple:.

I agree, I also believe it is the most versatile finish.

It also has the added benefit of the stronger glass.

Are you planning on upgrading this year?
