Not sure what you mean? The front has been redesigned. No home button, almost edge to edge display, stainless steel and glass encasing. I think you have the X mistaken for the 8 and 8 Plus. Now those two are almost identical to the 6/S/7.

We’re reaching a point where there’s only so much change that can happen with the design, and Apple generally keeps certain designs for many years.

Look at the past decade or more for MacBooks, iMacs, and heck even current iPads have had the chamfered bezel type of look since 2012.

The iPhone X was a significant design update from the 6/7 era and you can tell going forward for the next while is essentially going to be an attempt at an all screen front on the device.

This part is just my opinion, but I find that most iPhones over the years have had pretty classic and iconic designs. They age quite well and always look good. The X with the stainless steel band and white/grey glass back has such a clean yet stunning look.

I'm actually not planning to update this year as I love the X just the way it is. A bigger screen but smaller form factor compared to my previous 7S+. I'll never go back to a home button again. Ever.

There was no 7S+ and your X screen isn't bigger in terms of actual area than any plus phone.

The iPhone was massively redesigned last year. No, I'm not talking about the iPhone X.

I'm talking about the Cellular Apple Watch.

Right.

iPhone X completely removed the home button, switched to an all screen front, new size, encased in glass and stainless steel. And that’s not a redesign?

What exactly are you looking for? Square edges? An antenna sticking out the top?

Haha that was my thought? The X and new models getting announced next week ARE total redesigns.
Perhaps a triangle design would suffice??
It’s kinda difficult to make a slab with glass front stand out.

I really want to know when the iphone is completely redesigned from the current model, from the iPhone 6 to now almost intact design nothing changes ,except the camera and color . kind bored >>>

iphone XS will be 5th yrs streight model >>

time to redesign :)

You have unrealistic expectations and on top of that the device was redesigned last year.

I have a feeling that the 2019 iPhone will get rid of the notch that many people dislike, everything will be housed underneath making screen real estate more sleek, Face ID will be more optimized with optional fingerprint unlocking tech within the screen and a triple lens camera, but that’ll take courage:D

1 2 3 6 7 8 10 = round
4 5 = square

so apple only using square design 2 times otherwise round design lead ,

the SHAPE is the exact same as the 6 design. Its not a true redesign its an evolution of the same style that's been here since 2014.
A real redesign would be a different shape.
I personally would love them to remake the iPhone 4 style with no protruding glass. Not a huge fan of the chambered edges of the 5 style which was an evolution to the 4 style.
I think a iPhone 4 style would look better then the curved edges of the 6 and on design. Also would be easier to hold.

I really cannot agree that the X is not a true redesign just on the basis of the curvature of the edges. It’s a feature of the design that has carried forward and this will always happen with any evolution in product design. Just a general comment and not aimed squarely at you, but I can’t grasp why some people insist on a complete revolution in design just for the sake of it. All of the iPhones are recognisably iPhones despite evolutions in the form factor over 11 years. The X had the challenge of maintaining that despite the loss of the biggest distinguishing feature and I think Apple managed it well.

I do agree that the iPhone 4 was the best iPhone design. It stood out from everything else on sale at the time. But much as I liked it, I can see that it wouldn’t be practical with the larger, heavier iPhones we have now.

Highly doubtful. The notch is not going to be leaving anytime soon, until that technology is completely refined where the components can be reduced, the notch will be here I would be willing to believe at least for the next few years or so at minimum.

Re: X design, all that needs to be done is a smaller notch, less-protruding or flush rear camera & lighter weight. Also wouldn't mind a return to squared off sides á la iPhone 5.

They're almost at the end-game of design, so it's just minor stepping stones from here on in.

what about the recent leaks with iPad design taking ques from the 5 design?
I think a return the squared 4/5 style in a more polished design with the glass completely flush would be a massive hit but I just really loved that design the best over the curved sides/glass. The 5's glass still wasn't completely flush I was disappointed in that and I think the biggest flaw with the 4's was just that. The glass wasnt flush with the frame. I don't see why larger phones couldn't be designed with the flat edges with flush glass. I think it would be less prone to breaking too. The 6 and on design is too prone to breaking with the smaller frame and glass sticking out on all sides now.
Id be happy to see a return to that design

that sounds perfect to me

Who cares if you're bored? If you want change for changes sake buy something else.

iPhone X was the major redesign. The next 4-6 years will only see small refinements. The significant changes will be in the software & services offered.

The x was a major redesign to you not everybody...
To me and plenty of people it was an evolution to the 6 design just like the 4-5. Nothing more.
Redesigns change the shell of the phone also. Changing the home button to me is not a redesign its just an evolutionary design of the iPhone. Still is an upgraded 6 design from the frame up...
