I love to see movies in my iPad. It becomes best entertainment for me while i am traveling. Additionally, It's a great device for checking mail as well as playing games.

My iPad is the ultimate media device and is often used as a set top box to stream movies to our TV via XBMC....brilliant stuff...:D

My tv show list is so big I need an app to manage what I have seen and what I haven't :D

That said, I watch a lot in bed in my iPad lying next to my girlfriend...
The screen is more than enough for tv shows and simple movies (maybe not extreme action packed ones that might benefit from a bigger screen).

I've been looking for a similar app for my iPad too! Fortunately, android does have an app that does exactly that, it is called SeriesGuide and I have yet to find an iOS equivellant. Oh well...reason enough to keep my android tablet.

I use Tv Show Tracker but i believe it's iPhone/iPod only... You can check if Episodes has a iPad version... Not sure though.

Thanks, I've been needing one for my Phone as I don't always have my tablet with me when watching TV.

I've also found a free one which may deserve a look, simply called "Episodes" on iOS.

I don't own an iPad yet, waiting for new one to come out. Once I get it I'll definitely be using it for movies & TV shoes.

I've got a 60" Plasma TV with a strong surround sound system, but I travel nearly every week M-F, so it spends a lot of time collecting dust unfortunately and cannot enjoy it during the week.

The iPad will be useful while on the road, I'm getting sick of watching videos on the comparatively small iPhone 5 screen.

I occassionally will watch a movie on my iPad, but I do watch plentry of documentaries. During wrestling season I'll stream meet from universities and was able to watch the Big Tens and NCAAs.

We don't have any televisions in the house for almost eight years and we don't miss them. My wife streams Sohu movies on her Air and our daughter lives on different art sites and such.

Yup me too...

I have 6 movies on my ipad 3,and 1 TV show very convenient.hopefully ipad 5 will have the 128gb storage or who knows,256 gb stowage.

I am sure some people do watch most of their movies on the ipad due to various reasons but I prefer to watch them on my 50in plasma with surround sound. Some feature movies I will go to the cinema to see them.Nothing like a sci if movie on a big screen.

The only time I watch movies on the ipad is during flights. On a plane the ipad becomes the big screen compared to the lousy embedded monitors.

Call me crazy, but I find the iPad experience a little more immersive sometimes. Especially when I'm curled up in bed with earphones plugged in. Pretty awesome way to watch a movie!

This will sound a lot more condescending than I intend it to because people can watch however they want, but I enjoy movies too much to cripple them on a tiny screen.

I enjoy watching short YouTube clips or movie trailers on the iPad but at the most I could only watch reruns of 30 minute TV shows because anything else I'd just rather watch on a large screen (as, I assume, they were intended).

I have "always" thought that movies were intended for huge screens like the ones in the theatre, so that when you see it on a TV screen, it's already crippled. Of course, that's no reason to cripple it even more by watching it on an iPad mini, though.

Since my internet is slow at my house, whenever I got to school (I am a senior in HS) I sometimes download a video and then watch it over AirPlay from an Apple TV. As for watching movies just in the iPad, I find that it is alright for when on the go but when you have a TV around you there is no point in doing it.

The experience for a movie depends on the screen size combined with the viewing distance as well as the sound system in use.

For me, the distance I view a movie on the iPad makes the image about the same size as if I was viewing it on my TV. So in that case the viewing experience is the same.

As for movie theater screens, HD TVs at least handle the aspect ratio of movies much better than the old SD TVs. So home viewing is better than it used to be, but unless you have a lot of money to put in a super large TV and matching sound system, yeah a movie theater will be better - well except for the noisy people, the sticky seats and the cell phones going off all the time. Oh and the schedules of the movies.

Yup. I don't have a TV in my bedroom so I watch Netflix, HBOgo and Hulu on my iPad.

A decade ago I'd agree. But with the affordability/quality of a solid home theater then I actually prefer my 55" HDTV and stereo system over a bigger (but miscalibrated) theater experience. Plus... at least at home Im married to the jerk texting/talking next to me. :)

I watch a lot of my movies on my ipad. We recently had a baby, and he sleeps in our room at night. Often times we leave the TV on a baby channel for him (for the light and the music) and then ip default to the ipad to watch movies over home sharing.

I watch TV shows on my ipad mini all the time. Stuff I've bought from iTunes, Netflix, lovefilm, my own ripped DVDs. That's one of the main things I use my ipad for. I haven't watched any movies on there yet but I plan to.
