Do you wear a Blue Tooth headset in your ear?

I have a decently long commute, so it gives my wife and I a chance to alert each other to issues prior to my getting home.

I will wear it as I walk to get into the car, and then while driving. It beats trying to pull my phone out while driving.

I still can't get over the number of people driving with one hand holding the phone to their heads.

I use mine in the car, and basically turn it on and put it in my ear when I start the car, and as soon as I arrive I turn it off and leave it in the cupholder. Mostly on my commute home so if I need to pick up dinner ingredients, etc my significant other can call me. I like it because my phone can be on the seat or in my briefcase and I can still grab the call. And during rush hour, when traffic is crazy and people drive like madmen, it's helpful to have both hands on the road. (Also illegal to talk without a headset...details )

Nope. The wired one gets used in the car if I know I'm going to HAVE to take a call, but that's it....even then, I'd rather avoid using the phone while driving, and wish that others would do the same...Don't get me started on people who text-message while driving.

I wouldn't be caught dead with one of those in my ear.

Oh my god I thought I was alone!

So there ARE others who agree with me.

In the office - sure, in the car, yeah, if you're working on a complex machine in the field and need some assistance - okay. But in restaurants, public bathrooms, and EVERYWHERE - WTF, you're not THAT important. I mean humankind DID exist before you got that (@*$ing BT phone.

I only use mine in the car. I leave it in the car.

I refuse to leave it in my ear unless I am actively on a call, and after only a couple of days of carrying it around in a pocket, I realized the one I got (Jawbone) was too bulky and awkward not to get broken walking around with me outside of my ear.

Those headsets are way too Star Trek for me.
Can't stand them.Bluetool is right!

Only when I'm driving since it is California law.

Any other time, I just use the phone normally.

The whole "Look-at-me-I-have-a-bluetooth-headset-in-my-ear-even-though-i'm-not-talking" look is lame, especially in places such as a restaurant, a movie theatre or a store where either you shouldn't be using a phone anyways or where it wouldn't kill you to just pick up the phone normally.

I wear one in the car (only when I'm on the phone, I don't just wait for calls to come in...) and it's the law in NY.

Also, if I am going to have a long conversation at home, I'll use it just because it's more comfortable. I love the iPhone, but it's annoying to hold on to for a long time and it doesn't cradle between my head/neck/shoulder very well.

I was thinking about getting a portable GPS for my car, and I think there are some bluetooth enabled versions that'll allow me to talk hands free. I wonder how well that works?

Like I said before, I use one in the car, but I still feel like kind of a douche for having it on.

i only use bluetooth on for my Ps3, and I hand it from my shirt. I then forget it, and go to the store, with people wondering what is hanging from my shirt.

only at home when I'm feeling too lazy to hold the phone to my head lol. But yeah, never in public...just doesn't feel right. Occasionally in the car, but I don't really like to carry on a conv while I drive.

I have one, I think I've maybe used it once. It just sits on my desk at home, I never take it with me anywhere.

I just don't use the phone while driving. I figure if I can't answer it, and it's important enough, they'll leave a voicemail. IMO, driving with a headset is just as dangerous since you're not giving your full attention to the road. Besides, a bluetooth headset would make me look like a tool, and I drive a stick and can't hold a phone, so talking and driving is out of the question anyways :D

Don't you think it's interesting though, how you can carry on a conversation with people in the car, and it's fine, but on the phone, it seems to be more distracting. I wonder why.
